Don’t worry I have Top 1% Coalesence healing. I know how to use it. But it still isn’t good.
you don’t understand what the datas means instead.
if you can charge an ult faster you can take fights more fast.
lets say character A: has 50% winrate and ult every 2 min.
character B: 60% winrate and ult every 4 min
character A will be able to use ult twice in the same amount of time and theorically fights 2 times more frequently.
winrate of fights in the same time at this point would become this:
character A: 50% for first fight and 50% of 50% which is 25% (you have to take in account only the fight you lost cause obviously if you win you win).
total winrate of fights in 4 min 75%
character B: 60% in 4 min
you understand why i even told you to look at ult per 10 min?
the fact she has lower winrate per fight doesnt mean that in the complex it will have a lower winrate because having ult more often also mean you can fight more often, and the fights you have without the ult will influence even more.
Then what would make it a good ultimate? In your opinion?
Worst ult? Dude, git gud, lol. It’s one of THE fastest charging ultimates in the game, allowing you to create so much pressure, the damage and the healing are not to underestimate, wtf.
It’s okay for the rate at which it charges.
I wouldn’t mind if instead of a channeled beam, it instead augmented her abilities (at the expense of longer charge time)
Biotic grasp -> what the ult is now
Biotic orb -> healy/murdery ball
Fade -> lasts .5 seconds longer and allows for vertical movement
Sound Barrier says hello
Her winrate is literally negative when she ults. That means she loses more fights than she wins with her ult. If she uses ult two fights in a row, she is more likely to lose both of them than she is to win them. Meanwhile, Ana would actually be favored to win the one fight she gets ult in.
The problem with this whole discussion is once you start bringing up charge times you have to bring in the rest of their kits too, if which Ana’s is simply better. Remember, that Moira with Coalesence has a worse winrate than Ana without Nanoboost.
It’s good because it makes your enemies blind.
Coalescence is great because it’s just as versatile as her entire kit is. Everything is damage or healing with Moira and finding the balance between both is the goal.
Coalescence can be used to heal teammates and give your healing resource a break to recharge or it can be used to deal damage and pressure enemies if you’re fine on healing resource and your team doesn’t need lots of healing at the moment.
Obviously always pair it with an orb before ulting for maximum effectiveness. It’s all about adapting to the situation at hand with Coalescence and making sure that you don’t get interrupted during it or misuse it. Always stay behind your team to ensure that they all get healed while you deal damage to enemies from the maximum range possible.
It’s a very good ult when used properly. It may seem weak and easily interrupted but if you’re careful and don’t allow it to get interrupted you’ll get the full value of it.
It’s honestly like a weaker, long range Transcendence that deals damage.
I can’t see how they’d change it without changing it drastically which I doubt very much they’d do.
This is getting changed in two days lmao.
Nano ONLY works effectively when paired with other ults.
Coalesence can be used in a bunch of different situations, like as a follow up to grav or shatter.
Clearly, at least in the games I’ve been in they don’t know the balance between healing and damage because the moira’s I have played with tried to do damage instead of healing, I get she has to charge her heals up but still you don’t need to spend half the match damaging.
Not necessarily if you nano a pharah or another hero who can deal high damage they can destroy.
Except Nanoboost can followup on both Graviton Surge and Earthshatter better than Coalesence can.
Other ults exist in the game. Ignoring them makes no sense.
A key thing to remember is that it’s probably intentionally weaker (relative to other ults) because Moira can build her ult very quickly. It’s like Tracer’s ult in that it’s strength comes from how you use it, and that you get a lot of opportunities since it builds pretty quickly.
I would only do that as a last resort, because nanoing a teammate who isn’t ulting is just a wasteful use of nano. If the Pharah barraged the enemy team from behind, that’s when I nano her.
I’ll sometimes nano a Winston or a D.va when they dive in, IF I landed a nade on them first.
True, but it’s only natural that the support with the strongest abilities and the ability to counter flankers by herself doesn’t have a game changing ultimate. Seems really well designed to me.
I mean Ana, Lucio and Brigitte can duel Flankers as well. Zenyatta will basically either kill them instantly or die instantly. Moira’s only strength is her massive AoE healing output. That’s why she’s generally bad in any organized setting.
it should be noted that you’re never going to convince anybody of the strength of any ultimate here when most people are deadset on “owl is completely irrelevant to my games”
valk will forever be considered worthless despite its owl strength and coalescence will not be considered bad either
if the pub community cared at all about how good some heroes are in the meta, moira’s pickrate wouldn’t be as ridiculous as it is
Brigitte is another hero that can counter flankers too, but her flaw is her very limited healing and inability to fight against long range or heavy sustain compositions like for example Phamercy. She’s also a bit over-tuned right now and under the spectrum for nerfs so we’ll have to see if this will change in the near future.
Ana, Lucio and Zenyatta however suffer greatly against flankers. Dueling isn’t a good decision with these heroes and you should rely on your team heavily. Ana can hit her sleep dart and self heal, but sleep dart rarely lands and even then it doesn’t guarantee a win and using the grenade on yourself takes away your strongest ability. Lucio can duel, but will lose unless he disengages using his abilities. Zenyatta can melt flankers but melts to them too. Also you don’t want to be dueling as a main healer because it takes all the healing you could’ve done to your team away and will lose you fights.
