Juno like many of the heroes doesn’t seem to speak English as a first langauge. I’m sure many real life ESOL (English as a second language) speakers find English words and phrases funny.
English is my first langauge but I also speak Mandarin in case people are wondering.

Im pretty sure English is her first language. All her voicelines are in English (sadly no Vietnamese lines). I think its more of a cultural thing, like how some people call soft drinks “pop” while other regions call it “soda”. Very much a regional, culture thing. And with Juno growing up on Mars, Im guessing shes been culturally-isolated from specific English phrases and dishes such as “chicken fried rice”.

Appealing to the modern audience doesn’t work, so maybe they should appeal to the people willing to say “I liked that. Please, take my money and continue to support yourself while developing the game”.
Of course, there’s genuinely people who think “You should do what I think is correct even if you go broke for it”, so I don’t know if you’ll agree with me.

I just feel like the only way they could have made her more of a stereotypical airhead is to make her blond.
They can make characters silly, but why make her dumb as well?
Such a stereotypical approach just makes me cringe, and feels like it’s been dragged to modern days from the 80s and early 90s. It’s a toxic stereotype.
She was raised by scientists. She should know how naming things works. She can be silly about stuff like idioms that she might never have heard before. But some things are there just to make her sound dumb.
Unless she’s on the spectrum and just struggles with figures of speech and stuff. But even then there should be stuff to balance that out.
Kiriko has bratty voicelines, but she does have reasonable interactions with the other characters. Juno, so far does not have those balancing interactions which she sorely needs at this point.
If the world has taught me anything, scientist being obtuse outside of their own field is far more common than one thinks.

Not dumb; ignorant. Its almost unfair to assume Juno would know how the earth works, plus
1.) We have enhanced talking gorillas scientists and enhanced Hamsters. Why not enhanced chickens that can fry rice?
2.) That misunderstanding meme is pretty new. I remember one where you see a carriage with the text saying “I do NOT believe a horse drew this carriage!” or something. Juno’s the only one who could say the line because its possible she’s never seen chicken fried rice in her life.
Really, I’d like a line where someone (maybe Ashe) is trying to mock her for thinking a chicken fried the rice, and Juno says “Well, we have a gorilla scientists so why not a chief chicken?” Is it really that outlandish?
Should she? Why? What if the scientists are also naive about food and its naming conventions? Do we know anything about her space colony? Its possible she’s tech savvy and knows nothing about anything else; the real world works like that, too.
Remember that Juno’s lines are supposed to reflect the fact that she’s not from this planet, so comparing Kiriko to Juno is unfair. Doubly so because Kiriko is supposed to be really clever and street smart and Juno is the literal dramatic opposite of that. A better comparison would be Winston as he’s from space too, but even then if he said “A chicken fried this rice!?” we’d forgive him for being confused for obvious reasons.
The same reason I said for Juno. “Look, I’m a talking gorilla; why can’t there be a chicken smart enough to fry rice?”
I don’t know. Ultimately I have a hang up of people seeing unrealistic things in games, but then they decide something is REALLY unrealistic and go “wait, what? I don’t believe that! Where’s the realism!?” for small things like a voice line, I think we should just accept it for what it is.
