This is my main problem about it being free to play
blizzard could easily use DMCA against them to force them to stop a company like blizzard can easily force a cheat developer into lifetime bankruptcy
Iâm not sure if this has some role in current policy, but the guy from Pirate Software, who for many years worked for Blizzard dealing with cheaters, claimed there was method to their madness of not banning people immediately.
The name of the youtube short is banwaves are good
The synopsis is that by waiting several months it would trigger a large wave of chargebacks on the cheat vendors from disgruntled customers.
Even if this is accurate, I still think waiting that long is unacceptable - maybe monthly banwaves if banwaves are in fact still part of their model in OW2, but letting people run around for weeks on end flagrantly cheating ruins a lot of games and just seems like a bad look.
Yeah yeah another lie.
Every cheat program have that headlight attached - cheating is forbidden, you cheat on your own consequences.
If blizzard ever wanted they could stop cheating on day 1.
i can actually see it being an honest mistake though. Most people dont really even think to save replay codes or want to use the current system we have in place with replay codes.
I like the old replay codes system, they were easy to access. Today they are a pain to dig through and find if someone doesnât know where to find them at.
But yeah Major Anti cheat companies have stated that 1/3rd of players in any game that is available online for play has CHEATERS in them. So it would make sense that one out of every 3 matches would have a cheater in them or even every 3rd player in a match is cheating.
When they define cheating it can be anything from:
âAim assistâ
âaim botâ.
âtrigger botâ.
" Game Radar".
âTargeted alertâ.
" USB aim assistance devices"
" Sound Radar".
âDirectional Threat detectorâ.
âX-rayâ
âAim ZOOMâ
âhitbox locatorâ.
When I did work in a PC repair shop I came across some pcs with people complaining about why their computers were running slow, and that was about the typical types of cheats I would find above, downloaded to computers or with the machine.
it was bad, because the software would also have a secondary âbackdoorâ which was using Proxy services to connect to the internet, and then running Glasswire and wireshark we would see that the software was âcalling homeâ to a 3rd party.
yes, I went as far as asking the guy to show me how it all worked and its really absurd that people still flame others by telling them to âget gudâ and then have a pc decked out in a substantial amount of cheat tools, and be proud of it. To me, there is nothing to be proud of, automating a game to the point where it is pretty much played for a person.
My other thoughts were, I just thought cheats were only aim assistance, but spatial awareness tools are used equally as well, by the âcheaters tool kitâ so yeah. that much information a person has at their disposal is pretty absurd, and how much players are wiling to spend on it.
They are a bit too biased for me to take that claim without any supporting evidence.
There are cheaters, but far less than some of the people claim. Some people claim that pretty much all of their losses are due to cheats. That is just something they make up to feel better about themselves.
Trust me theyâre not worth discussing with. They will just say the person saying no its not a cheater have no clue what to look for. But without any reasoning also express that they know what they are looking for and are right⌠without any real things to point at as facts.
There are no more cheaters in the game as of s9 caus blizzard officially provided aimbot to everyone.
You will never beat the cheats, you have 2 choices: join them, or stop playing OW.
Pretty sure he came here just after these games so he still has the replaysâŚ
Dunno about the old replay codes system, seems the same for me.
And for the anti cheat companies, I want some stats because itâs too easy to say â1/3rd of players are cheatersâ, could be true overall but not in OW2.
We really dont know anything since there is no public information regardless. But when I was a server owner and this past year I leased servers with a group. Iâd say we would come across about 21% of the players in our matches were using some form of cheat.
Which lead to us suspending them from our servers for 30 days averages on a warning, 90 days on a secondary warning.
I never went âfull bansâ on them. Just so that way it gives them a reason to maybe come back and try to behave.
Back when I use to host a tf2 server it was roughly bans at
3 days - first offense
2 weeks - second offense
1 month - third offense
3 months - fourth offense
9 months - 5th offense.
(about averages on most cases).
So it went from 33% to 21% and itâs TF2, so my point is correct I guess.
somewhere in that range at least from what I can tell. eitherway we have a problem here.
Its not as bad as âThe Finalsâ which is way worse.
When Blizz handed over the professional competitive setting to Faceit, they completely removed the need for them to build an active anti-cheat. I see wall-hacking and soft toggle bots a lot lately. I report and get a notification within a few days, so Iâm not crazy.
The current anti-cheat is reporting and devs watching Twitch streams. Thatâs sad and takes away the competitiveness of the game.
It doesnât prove anythingâŚ
Damn they will never understand!
Yeah quit Overwatch and go to any other game where the community still complains about cheaters.
Though joining cheaters sounds like a shining endorsement of a problem that is perceptibly bigger than it likely is and is wildly egregious to even suggest.
ive shared some replays of people who i thought were cheating but people told me no thats perfectly normal. i watch again and im like yea you could be right. then someone says no thats cheating and im like⌠i dunno lol.
now i have some videos of actual full on cheats that no one disputes unless trying to be funny like âthats just because he has a good gaming chairâ thing.
do i think there are sophisticated cheats⌠yea of course but it is weird that you can lose with those type of cheats. only rage hacking usually guarantees you a win right? if people pay lots of money for sophisticated cheats but end up being 50/50 anyways what is the point lol. thats a lot of moneyâŚ
It proves they are at least cheating. It doesnât prove that Blizz is doing anything about it though.
No it proves that they have been sanctionned thatâs all, reporting someone enough times is the only thing you needâŚ
Joke is he probably wasnât the only one. Thereâs so much of it the last two weeks, clearly they rolled out a new cheat. A lot of it is coming from one particular region. We all know the one.
Thatâs exactly what Iâve seen the last two weeks. Every other game and then at weekends most games have on one side. Doesnât ensure a win because at the end of the day youâre playing a no-skill cheat or several and in the end good players generally have a decent advantage.
You have 10k posts on these forums and 9.9k of them are you defending cheaters. Literally every cheat thread for years you pop up to defend the cheaters.
