Can't install Overwatch

I played earlier today and saw that the new map was on the ptr, so I updated the ptr and played it. I had my fun and wanted to go back and play the event some more. I closed the ptr and tried to launch the regular game. All I got was an error ding. Tried restarting to no avail. So I hit scan and repair. Bad idea. Now it says I need to update and once I do click update gives me this error code: BLZBNTAGT00000BB8. Okay, I’ll reinstall. Hours later and the same thing is still happening.

Howdy!

The error BLZBNTAGT00000BB8 main sources are permission or connection issue(Corruption). Given you were playing completely fine earlier and this issue suddenly started that would point to a connection issue.

Can you run a WinMTR to host IP: 24.105.30.129 for 10 minutes. Post the results back here for review.

If you have the option to try on another connection such as a private home ISP or another location you often play that may do the trick as well.

Thank you.

Here’s the WinMTR

Edit:

I installed the game on my m.2 boot drive but I don’t want to keep it there if possible.

HeileMich,

You should be able to delete the old build and move your m.2 build over to where you had it installed earlier. The old game may have been corrupted. This said, if your other drive is an external harddrive, this behavior is somewhat expected. Due to windows permissions and some of the files we have to access, windows or security programs will sometimes block us when installing/repairing files on an external harddrive. I recommend using an internal harddrive.
