I get what you’re saying. Unfortunately, you cant just delete how monetisation has moved on unfortunately - live service games need a different method to pay for them. If a game ever had free DLC, its because the original made a sackload of cash and they could afford to make it, or the DLC was just super cheap to make. Personally, i found B4B good fun but other people didn’t.
Making games is a business, so money needs to come in somehow. Things that arent profitable get cut by management and things that are get expanded on. You cant blame the devs for that. I’m very sure they want the game to be super fun, but they’ve been smashed into a wall by people in charge making bad decisions.
I’m pretty sure Bliz management said “hey, look, Battlefield is making lots of money, copy that” which forced most of the OW2 changes we’ve seen on the devs to make. “make the queue times faster, we’ll make more money” = bad matchmaking and 5v5.
Still, take care of yourself. Buy a puppy.
