Exactly. Since OW2 released, it has consistently been in the top 10 most played games on both PS4 and Xbox. The idea that overwatch is somehow dying is just plain stupid
That’s really easy, i’m a depressed mathematician so with Overwatch the product of two negative numbers is positive.
You’re more qualified to be a product manager at blizzard than who they have now. No sarcasm. That would actually would have been quite the move… a few years ago. A show like that would take quite a bit of time to flesh out and release but hey, best time to plant a tree…
I haven’t been positive about this game in like four years lol
I totally agree, which is why I am positive about Overwatch Dos. It has been improving from launch. Obviously there was the season 9 misstep, but it was for the best. People needed to learn this is a party game. It’s not competitive. At the end of the day, it is just a fun game if you accept it for what it is. It HAD the potential to be bigger than Counterstrike or LoL. That’s just not what it wanted to be. Is that a bummer? Obviously. But whatever. It is what it is.
not talking about you; just a general comment. I am not sure why someone would not consider a game as a casual form of entertainment. People who are actually earning money via playing OW (including youtube video makers) probably don’t even make up 10% of the gamebase. So, the assumption should be that a game in essence is for casual gameplay.
If not, then, it would be the equivalent of people seriously taking Netflix and getting tilted when Netflix does not release a good show.
Homie I get tilted when netflix cancels a good show. Didn’t know I was watching netflix competitively. I must be GM1 in that ladder.
Under all that junk is a fun game, the heroes are fun to play just not with other people in battle as the people tend to whine when they get shot in a shooting game.
But vs AI show how much things can be.
Nobody here has any reason to be positive about OW. They hate OW in general when they say things like 5v5 or RQ are good for the game(when they never will be).
Any positivity you see here or anywhere regarding OW is simply toxic positivity. They do not mean it, they do not have any real hope, and they are lying if they say they are having fun playing the game.
I’ve been reading the same “OW is dead” lines for years. At a certain point to stop taking it seriously.
I have no clue what you mean by overwatch has no gamer culture or popular references because overwatch is easily more well known in general culture than lol is. Overwatch has been in movies etc and even today’s NYT puzzle. Not to mention the other thing. Im positive about the new things they’re adding because I still have fun playing despite my critiques; and i suspect you do too or you wouldnt be here.
None of those things are “desperate attempts” lol. Listening to community feedback isn’t a “desperate attempt”, it’s doing their job. They have been doing “desperate attempt” balance patches for the last 8 years. That’s what comes with being a live service game.
I simply would rather believe things can eventually become better rather than spiral down into getting worse forever and ever.
There are problems, yes. Glaring ones, and some less so. But, I still find enjoyment in the game (especially with this season, when the last one burnt me out).
I can only hope things get better in the eyes of the majority, though I think the company has burned far too many bridges. That said, the upcoming 6v6 tests sure have put a twinkle in some people’s eyes, so who knows?
Point is, at the end of the day, I’m still finding ways to have fun. Less than before, but I enjoy the time I spend.
Yeah, kinda almost as if being F2P is the one thing keeping it afloat.
Monetization is comparable to EA.
PVE content was erased or sent to the dumpster.
Points in which the balance is so laughably atrocious that makes you think Microsoft should’ve included a few more jobs in their layoffs, launch Illari, Weaver and S8 Mauga were complete jokes. How we manage to consistently end up in Brig or borderline Brig situations, or in Weaver’s case, the complete opposite is embarrassing.
So far, all 3 modes that have been added have been utterly lambasted.
Even their artists and designers are getting lazier, Juno and Venture have nothing in terms of content and Mauga still has barely anything. Recolors are everywhere and even taking up space in the battle passes.
Worst of all, juggernaut IP Marvel and experienced class-based shooter developer Valve are looking to cash in on Overwatch’s repeated failures. God forbid Valve start caring for TF2 and even port it to consoles again.
Because when the disappointment and expectations gets low enough you just hit blind bliss.
because it cant possibly go any lower ? right ?
Glad that happened for you, or I’m so sorry. Not reading all that bud. Having too much fun on Overwatch
Have all the fun you want homie.
Don’t change the fact that this game is on life support. Take away F2P and the game falls apart.
Then they will make it about venture and how they lost their teeth.
Zero faith in new team to do anything right
bold to say people are lying. I do have fun playing Overwatch. will 6v6 be more fun? maybe, I haven’t played the community code but I’ve heard positive things about it. but I do still genuinely have fun when I’m playing this game, moreso if I’m playing with friends. you can’t just claim people are lying or displaying “toxic positivity” when they don’t share your doomerism. the team has been a lot more transparent than they used to be, so I have some hope for the future.
I dont know what it is about the game, but even when im getting stomped, i dont really get that mad or upset. its one of those games that despite being chaotic, is very calm for me
