Can we stop shaming people for no reason?

meta doesnt exist anymore?

In all seriousness I think the only “shame” that should be felt is by those who attempt to belittle others.

In that case, I think its justifiable.

YES! Also, I love the GoTs reference!

You’re right. I’ve been working on my mechanical skill so it can match my understanding of the game so I can finally climb out of Bronze, which I placed in as an idiot LV 25 player who didn’t understand how team comps worked. The only problem I have with climbing now is that its hard to find competent Bronze players and my mechanical skill just plain sucks. XD

I will never stop receiving shame for playing Brigitte. I don’t get shame for any other hero. It’s sad and pathetic too because she’s the weakest hero in the game. Winston has a slower time to kill but he has big mobility and larger health pool so she really is the weakest one

I get this all the time. “You’re Bronze, you can’t have game sense or an understanding of the game! You’re not allowed to climb!” I get you, buddy. I totally get you.

In case you’re wondering, the reason I’m in Bronze is because I have low mechanical skill and no one listens to shot calling in Bronze. XD

There is not one instance where a PP has been helpful, There has been multiple occasions where it makes playing competetive more difficult. I know it is toxic but honestly I have no issues if PP players are getting shamed. Can you name one reason why PP has been good for overwatch?

That’s why i have a private profile

Your opinion might not be correct or have as much understanding as another who has been around longer, but you, as a person who wants to share their opinion, is still of value. You should not be treated any less than because what you say might not be correct. Being wrong doesn’t mean you should be treated poorly and made to feel a fool. You are still a person and for that alone, you have value and should be treated with as much respect as any other person.

Private profiles should be shamed, it does not help the team whatsoever and it makes you more inclined not to join voice chat.

Shaming is a very loose term. In literally every field, competency matters. Credentials and skill matters.

Discussing balance requires knowledge and competency. Platforms also matter in the context of that discussion. Pointing out that someone is a low elo player (there’s nothing wrong with that) and/or playing on console is not shaming but rather a fact relevant to the discussion at hand.

This is true in every field and the reason why we take an advice from a seasoned medical practitioner in a relevant field and not a medical colleague student.

I get shamed almost every game I play. It’s expected at this point. Also If you go hey! I have blank win rate most people get even more salty and just say you’re carried. There’s no winning there when it comes to how people act.

Sure, meta exists. But I’m of the opinion that you can never really tell what a person might bring to the team by using a certain character, and a profile with a number of hours doesn’t change that.

shame on that dude who locks in the fifth dps though cough

I haven’t seen one instance of a helpful public profile, tbh. Bad players just yelled at eachother to swap to their most played Hero of that particular season. There’s less time wasted sitting in spawn looking at teammates’ profiles to shift the blame on someone else.

name ACTUAL reasons why it makes it more difficult?
people are gonna play what they want regardless of play time. so saying not knowing what they play is completely wrong.
smurfs are gonna happen regardless too so play time is also irrelevant.

by not allowing the enemy to comp snipe (view your profile as the comp game starts)

no comp sniping. so youre wrong.
it also shows whos going to rage and ruin the game first without having to wait which makes reporting you easier and faster

bc people like you are being childish. it’s not PP it’s YOU. sad you cant figure that out.

Absolutely, sometimes it’s negative value (as in takes away value), but value is still there.

Depends on the context, if someone asks a question and you clearly explain you only have a bit of knowledge of the subject, or something like that, absolutely.

If a person shows up with 99% incorrect info and acts like it’s fact, strutting around, no you don’t, you call them out to try and stop the flow of misinformation.

It really depends on how the other person asserts them self.

I would say yes and no, people are dime a dozen, there is rarely a time where a specific individual is required for something, most of the time you can just be swapped out and things proceed normally.

Generally speaking, respect to a minor extent is given, but still needs to be earned. Saying I deserve respect just cause I exist, sounds to me, people just want to get something for nothing, ‘I deserve this thing, because I exist’.

I could give a dozen examples of real life blatant falsehoods that are meant to be good for people, but are really hecking stupid, but that would require me going on a huge tangent and to be honest, these days would get me a ban, regardless of evidence provided or position/experience in said subject.

actually 5 dps and mercy is great

but there are picks that are objectivly useless, like attack symm 2.0 in open maps
