Sounds like fun. I’ll take it
Would that really change anything? When the ol’ fistpump got nerfed from 30 HPS to 15 HPS for allies, he lost a couple thousand healing per game on OW in GM, but still sat comfortably at 14k or so. I think that outright removing its effect on allies is going to make him more boring to play without achieving all that much.
I reckon that if you want to nerf Bap’s healing, you’d need to do something to RMB, like making it an Ana-esque HoT.
Funny, I didn’t see that in their comment.
If I got better at him I think I could.
Moira has literally no utility and is meant to be a healbot (that can also escape Doomfist sometimes). Why should Baptiste, whose kit is packed full of things he can do besides healbot, be better than Moira at the one thing Moira is meant to do?
Yes, Baptiste’s healing is aimed, but that doesn’t justify him stomping her healing per match and having a good ult and a second ult on E.
“wehhh u gotta waggle ur mouse” isn’t a good justification for fundamentally breaking game balance because “more waggling must mean more healing”. Ana is just as guilty of this bad logic, and the game would be dramatically better if Ana’s healing was nerfed to make up for her insanely good kit.
I love how obsolete this thinking is and how obsolete people who think like this will be in OW2 when class passives make all their playing in spawn irrelevant.
If a hero is not one-trickable to every rank, it’s not balanced.
Also, bap76 should have his DPS nerfed and then moira will have a better chance. I honestly think his dps makes him strong too.
Nerfing Baptise won’t make Moira any better. You nerf Bap, then Ana takes his place and you’ll be back here complaining about Ana.
The problem is Moira.
Tracer mains collectively laugh in your face ![]()
The problem is Moira is a bit like Reaper; so easy to play and get value from that you cannot buff these kits without literally undercutting the concept of reasonable input of skill (not just aim, but game sense/positioning) it’s just not good for the game, she’s nominally borderline too good for the effort as lowest skill kit in the game currently that she’s even competitive past a point… Brig has this issue in spades currently at top tiers.
People should not reasonably expect low-skill-for-value kits to dominate the game, it’s just not good for the game. Topping out on Moira at even say 4200 is just fine quite frankly.
Honestly this. You managed to get a low skill hero with like negative team utility into the highest of ranks. How can you not be satisfied with that? How can you possibly ask for more?
Thank god moria is no longer playable. I absolutely hate that hero. Bap has a higher skill floor/ceiling so he should be better then Moria FOR EVER.
Don’t mean to offend you or anything but nerfing baptiste probably isn’t gonna make moirs viable.
Well.ana is a lot better hero design than bap.
uhm. baptiste has fewer weaknesses than ana though? His jump gives him mobility ana lacks, his shift self heal isn’t instant like ana’s nade but immortality field does a good job at keeping him alive if he needs it. Not saying baptiste doesn’t have weaknesses but to imply ana doesn’t is just false.
that wouldnt do anything.
You could honestly right now, pretend regen burst only heals you, and be using the cooldown correctly 99% of the time.
If you really want to bring bap down a peg, you should think more along the lines of nerfing how much it heals him, or even taking away the ability entirely.
Can we nerf bastion 76 so I can finally play?
Can we nerf everyone please so I can sit and look at everyone w/o having to tank, dps, heal or think.
Again, because Moira is the easier to play hero. A hero with an easier to use kit shouldn’t also get more value than a character who has more stuff to use, and more stuff to pay attention to. That was one of the main reasons Brig was Overpowered; despite basically being a tank in the support role, she got way more value than heroes like Mercy, and was easier to play.
You’re right. His healing aiming wouldn’t, but you’re forgetting multiple things:
1.) His damage is also highly aim dependent. Moira has multiple ways to do damage while barely aiming, AND a better escape tool. AND she can heal her self on damage and stack that with a heal orb or damage orb
2.) Baptiste’s healing his aimed. Moira just has to spray in a general direction to heal an entire team.
3.) Baptiste’s IF has to be aimed, too. All but one of his skills is highly skill and aim dependent. Moira’s is not.
For all of these reasons, Baptiste SHOULD heal more! Why in the world should he be the harder healer to play, AND do worse than a hero who’s easier to play?
You should know by now I’m prepared to argue based on actual game design logic. Its not the “waggling the mouse” that’s why. Its the “Moira is objectively easier to play than Baptiste. It would only be bad game design if she was easier to play, and also out healed a character who’s vastly harder to play”.
Like, there’s a reason Roadhog out damages Reinhardt and has a more efficient kill combo. There’s a reason Genji gets to refresh his dash for a swift exit after a kill, but Soldier doesn’t. There’s a reason Sigma’s DM is more unwieldy than D.Va’s. Eventually, you have to realize that balance doesn’t = “make my hero better than hero I don’t like”. Its “what does my character need when you consider their playstyle”?
Moira can play a backline healer like Ana, a midranged healer like Mercy, or she can play aggro like Lucio. Baptiste is a glorified sniper without a scope. Why should she be capable of all this AND outheal Baptiste? She’d actually be broken if she could.
Also, Moira has a better ult than Baptiste. I don’t agree that his ult is better than moira since it only works as a damage and healing boost for himself at one stationary position most of the time. You can get team value from it, but I rarely see people do that these days.
With Moira, You can literally dump healing on your team while damaging the enemy if you aim your super wide cone correctly, which is nice, but you can ALSO use it while moving, so your team can push up on your ult.
One tricking is one thing, wanting to swap off a meta hero to play something you like playing is another
This post is cringe, is someone crying about nerfs.
id literally rather have ana , who has rarely never been used in games anyways
over a non ult ability that prevents deaths aka lamp.
inb4 mercy counterpoint : mercy is practically immobile and easy to kill while rezzing. lamp is instant
It’s the exact opposite. Bap has amazing utility and movement, and does better dmg, so he should heal less. Moira should heal the most because she literally sucks at everything else, and has to manage a resource. How it currently is, where Bap is played in anything bar dive, is bad game design.
