Can we hurry up and nerf sojourn

I think they mistake they’ve made is giving her a Widowmaker Power Gauge.

It is absurd and wholly unnecessary for her to be able to Railgun at any level of charge WHILST ALSO benefitting from 100% of that charge amount. If she’s on 67% power, she gets 67% damage on the shot…

SOUNDS FINE, but isn’t.

Because, there’s no downside. Like Widow, she scales perfectly linearly, when actually she should work more like Zen, where if you charge 4.8 Volley Orbs, you only fire 4, because you didn’t hit the threshold for 5.

So instead of 1-100, Sojourn needs a new Railgun mechanic, IMO. Something like 5 blocks (imagine Rogue combat points from WoW) that can be spent 3 or 5 at a time.

Having the absolute microscopic control over Railgun power IN ADDITION TO HER MOBILITY and SLOW make her too powerful. Every single digit Railgun Power increase (1-100) is banked and guaranteed for the next shot… but that’s just too much Quality of Life. It’s too efficient. It’s too good.

She needs clear, individual levels of power for her railgun. The freedom to shoot it EXACTLY when she wants AND gain UP TO THE MILLISECOND Power Charge (36, 47, 59, 72, whatever…) is too strong if she’s going to be able to headshot under 100 charge.

Perhaps her shots should only use up Charge in multiples of 20. So a 25 charge Railgun shot leaves 5 remaining, 57 shot would leave 17, and so on. SOMETHING that makes Sojourn have to make a decision about whether or not she should hold off a shot or take it while she can.

Just IMO.

I don’t feel like I really have to aim with the rail gun blast. I just kinda aim in their general zip code and get 2k damage a min

Her grav ball needs to be smaller, do less damage, or something. The number of zero skill kills I get from slapping that bad boy around is far too many too.

Her railgun feels to easy to use like you can charge it up pretty quickly to one hit headshot and you don’t really need to aim to kill with it since it’s pretty generous

All you need to pull up 200 kg is muscles. LoL, just go get it! Aim is the hardest skill mechanic in terms of consistency.

She has too much going on in her kit. Once she’s see enough owl use blizzard will nerf her. Either disruptor AOE or rail gun charge should get nerfed

Yeah she’s a bit too good IMO, I feel like they need to do the following:

  1. Increase delay between shooting from rapid fire to the rail gun mode, I know there is some delay after you shoot the railgun but it feels like there is no delay to the start up of shooting the railgun.

  2. Decrease the hitbox of the railgun shot, I find it to feel a bit too forgiving at points, something like this should not be as forgiving IMO especially when fully charged shots can be a OHK to targets with 250 health.

Sojourn went from being a worse version of soldier and widow before the changes to fire rate, mag size, and railgun width to being better than both of them lol. Kind’ve funny. Blizzard really wanted OWL to play their shiny new hero.

This is how it goes with every character. They’re either garbage or broken. Broken then they get nerfed to oblivion.
Weak and they get so massively powercrept they’re nothing like launch.

Honestly it is kind of rare for a DPS ult on its own to do that. NanoBlade can do that but it’s 2 ultimate abilities. Tire can get 2 and 3 if they mess up and Echo is/was a fight winner because she could copy tank ultimate abilities which brings us to the problem: the fight winning ultimates are usually tank ults. DOS usually get trash like Soldier ult and make do.

Anyone who thinks she is anywhere close to balance is crazy

She is outputting close to double the damage of other heroes. She is so oppressive and obnoxious to play against

They need to pick where she is strong. Atm she is dominant in every scenario at every range.

Skill? You mean blindly shooting into a pack of enemies and the shooting the railgun and guaranteeing a kill? Lol nah

You clearly have played her then. You fire her primary into any tank or pack of characters and then her secondary is so big you don’t have to even click on the head to guarantee a headshot. And on top of that her ult give her 6 full charged shots FOR FREE. She needs a nerf

I think you should learn how to avoid it instead, or how to deal with it.

It is not that strong. The only nerf I could see is a little less of damage over time on it.

I would do that if it didnt have a hitbox 10x the size of what is actually shown to the player. She can ult and dash nowhere near you and you will still get hit by it.

People think hanzo dragons are bad when you get killed even though you arent standing in the actual dragon effect? Aint Got nothing on JQ ult.

I literally get hit by JQ ult when in valkyrie in the middle of the sky as mercy. I get hit round corners and walls. That crap is broken. There is no reason that people who arent in her path should be hit by the ult

they buffed her two times during the first beta and now that the dps speed passive is gone it is easier to hit your shots on slower targets. so that basically was a 3rd buff for her when speed passive was removed since she is more of an aim hero. still has mobility too

Oh wait, sort of like… Hanzo or Soldier with helix rockets?

Overwatch 2 balancing is good for the most part but a little bit confusing as well.

Symmetra:

  • Low mobility outside of TP, decent damage only against shield, situational overall
  • Gets nerfed

Tracer:

  • High mobility, high burst damage, high skill floor and cap
  • Gets nerfed

Sojourn:

  • High mobility, high burst damage, high skill floor and cap
  • Gets to stay the same

I think her railgun should take more damage to charge. As it is right now you can get a few shots on someone and burst them down with what little charge you’ve built up. I thought with the Tracer nerf OW team was trying to cut down on the number of unlimited skill cap heroes on the roster, but Sojourn is exactly that imo.

Last i checked, Tank’s ults teamwipe all 5/6 enemies even more consistently and much easier to pull off.
