Here now it fits.
You are welcome.
If what you say is true then you should find yourself unbanned if many others are also wrongfully being banned.
It’s been a week since my ban. I’ve spent like an hour trying to find a working Blizzard phone number but couldn’t find anything because they’ve removed their phone numbers off their website since COVID19. I cant reach them via phone. They turned their live-chat off. I’ve submitted a support ticket. Got no reply for 3 days, then wrote another message there and got a generic “get lost” insult-response. Submitted another ticket-no reply. Created a topic on this forum where I explained what happened, showed screenshots of my heroes with below average stats and hundreds of hours played on the account, got 80+replies and then the topic got deleted and I got banned for 3 days. I agree, i SHOULD find myself unbanned, yet the possibility of it happening seems abysmally small. Blizzard robbed me of the hours I’ve spent on this game and of my money, and there is literally nothing I can do about it but post on forums.
Give it time. And continue to take the appropriate actions. If they are indeed willy-nilly banning people these actions and their attitude will hurt them financially. I wouldn’t play a game that would randomly ban me and I knew I 100% did nothing wrong.
Again, not saying you are in the right or wrong. Or that Blizzard is in the right or wrong. All you can do for now is take the appropriate actions.
It would fit if the assumption that every single ban of theirs is justified. There were several proofs in both this and People reporting being banned for hacking - #35 by Ergotth-1345 that topic that it’s just not true. People who don’t cheat have been banned for cheating in the past, they are being now(like I am) and they will be banned in the future. It is possible that you can be one of them. We don’t know how likely it is, but it is possible.
If the system is in error it is in Blizzard’s best interest to quickly make amends and fix it.
No company is randomly banning it’s customer base intentionally.
I don’t really have any appropriate actions if I cant reach any human being in their office either via phone or chat or email. I could sue them but it would require lawyers, a lot of money, and effort. All I can do besides suing them is to post here. I will probably also report them to the Better Business Bureau but it likely won’t achieve anything. And yeah, I definitely won’t ever buy any games from Blizzard even if they unban me now.
You probably can’t sue them. In the EULA it does mention they can ban you for any reason.
But you said your reason was titled as hacking. If its happening to you for no reason then it is probably happening to others.
Hey everyone, as a forum MVP I have been trying to find out more. Specifically if these trend of reports are in fact legitimate users getting banned accidently or not. If they are legitimate bans, I don’t expect I will get any details nor would I likely share them (as helps prevent cheaters from working around whatever it is that got them banned). Right now I am just trying to find out if these threads we all have been seeing are legit or not. Technically this is something I really am not suppose to dip my feet into, however I am not seeing of any notable public reports from Blizzard or news from third-party social media sources that suggest a legitimate ban wave.
As a reminder the use of any of the following is forbidden and will result in permanent actions:
- Macros (Including macro scripts from your keyboard driver)
- Aimbots
- Triggerbots
- Wall Hacks
- Graphics Editors
- Stat Trackers
- Nukers
- Any in-game exploit that gives you a distinct and unmatchable advantage over your opponents.
- Sharing access to your account with one or more other users (i.e. Account Boosting)
Their non-comment is an action; you just refuse to accept it.
Your premise is that cheaters have nothing to gain by posting here, but false positives also have nothing to gain by the same. Banning/unbanning is done by a specific process that involves zero use of public forums.
The only reason to post here is to garner public support for your cause. And cheaters do have a motive. They’ve lost countless hours and tons of money when they lost their accounts. It’s not surprising if some were to coordinate a forum wave of posts to either harm Blizzard’s image in retribution or to instill doubt about the strength of their evidence. Either are great motives.
getting banned in a 4 year old dead game… who cares…
Hey,
Just want to post a quick thank you.
I don’t think anyone on the forums would want you to specify who / what cheat was found on any of the banned accounts. I think your explanation of that is perfectly reasonable.
The reason I am taking the time to just say thank you is just for giving people like myself and Mei a little tiny bit of hope that Blizzard is actually looking into these threads and not just being pushed under the bed.
Is there anything people can do to help with the process when making a ticket? or anything to help outside of making tickets?
Kind Regards
Zero
Take a look at the forums and how many of them even have a single blue reply. Do you honestly think Blizzard cares about engaging with their customers enough to address this?
Really, nothing I can think of. Technically the discussion of account actions is not suppose to be allowed on the forums, and users should not have posting access to the forums if they are actioned.
However until there is either a clear statement from Blizzard or if users come forward with additional information, I can only try to do what I can (which is very little) to get more information.
Perfectly understandable.
I do hope why you understand why people are discussing the topic publicly though.
Once again. Thank you
FYI there is hope people,
after nearly 2 days i just received an email overturning my ban
Yes i have just received an email too!
Once again thank you so much Blizzard!
Now time to lose some SR!
i’m not thanking blizz for anything, shouldn’t of happened in the first place.
Only one confirmed case did that so far. Witch hunts are fun for some I guess.
eyy guys.
I have spoken to about 5 people now who all just received the email at once. it’s all good now
