Smurf accounts are often made due to longer queue times as well as when a meta becomes stale. That meta almost never changes until a team figures out a new comp strat idea that can work and fine tunes it. One reason players smurf is to just see what the unaware populace is playing to see how they are combating against the stronger chars. Its a way to brainstorm without having to be hard stuck into the popular meta at the time. In higher ranks you are very limited in your choices to play and while yes any character can be lvled to gm with varying of difficulty in a team comp you cant always do that and practice those comps. So since hidden mmr still exists even if its loose in qp you gotta make smurf to try out and practice other heroes you normally cant. You really need to stop thinking its players doing it to just ruin everyones day its sometimes just a necessity when most of your other options are limited in higher ranks.
Smurfing is out of control on the consoles-it’s why I stopped playing on them. It was just a miserable time.

QP, Arcade and Custom games won’t require you to play meta if that’s what troubling you. Are thos modes locked once you hit masters/GM or something?
No one in the history of mankind has ever done this. Why would someone of a higher skill level care about how someone of a lower skill level is playing into meta?
Kinda? If someone is GM at Doomfist they are gonna be GM wether Doom is meta, strong, decent or bad.

Why can’t you play those heroes? Are they locked or unavailable?? Aren’t heroes actually locked and unavailable at first on new accounts?
