Can we be done with perks now

I don’t know about you, but I am tired of all the constant changing during competitive games. Now that we have stadium, I see no reason that we need perks in competitive. It was a nice change of pace at first but now I’m tired of getting killed by mei sitting in an ice block. If people want to play with all the mixing and matching with abilities and stuff they should play stadium. I want to peacefully play a competitive game the way overwatch was months ago. I cannot keep up in competitive when people are constantly switching up how they’re playing, and it doesn’t help that some perks are just useless. I really just want normal overwatch back pretty please. It almost feels impossible to not get angry at this game.

Maybe you don’t but I do. Many others do. The devs do. Perks have brought different dynamics to the OW gameplay, and that alone is a great reason for them to stay and continually get updated for fresh, alternative modification to characters’ abilities while maintaining their default identities.

This sentence sums up your skill level. Someone call the whambulance!

The game is not obligated to accommodate your limited investment of time and effort, which results in your lack of game knowledge and skills.

Perks that are objectively useless rarely get utilized. If they were utilized, the perks’ impact would be minimal because they’re “just useless,” as you stated. Moreover, this assertion does not help your position of not wanting the perks as it contradicts your claim that you “cannot keep up in competitive when people are constantly switching.” If specific perks were useless and underutilized, it would have minimal effect on you such that you would not have to keep up with them. The real issue is your lack of memorization and inability to use or counter the perks effectively, not because some perks are useless.

Being annoyed is one thing, but you get angry from perks? In that case, you have a deeper emotional, mental problem. Seek help from somewhere else for your anger issue; do not project it on a video game.

Most perks are not that game changing tbh.
It’s mostly spicing things up here and there.

They dont really drastically change how anyone plays a hero, at least majority of them imo.
Just play the game and you’ll get used to it faster than you think.

and if there is a game changing perk, everyone will have that and it’ll come as no surprise after a couple of games.

I hope they ruin more.
would be great if we could turn this into a solo rpg game.

When will we get gear that enhance our hero?
don’t tell me we don’t need it. I want it!

I love nothing more than afking behind a wall mid Engagement to select my perk and get nice audio reminders and chat reminders to select my perk.
Game would be much worse if we didn’t had Interruptions mid game.

we need more breakers midgame to slow it down.

and even better we should only play the full heroes for less than a few minutes max.
While we enjoy washed down versions for the most of our playtime.

That feels very much like a future Stadium thing.

Surely perks are muscle memory now. Most heroes only have 1 option to pick from.

that works for my main, not when trying out new heroes. It used to be a lot easier now if I wanted to play X, I can either, read the perks in advance and remember them (for over 40 heroes) or read them mid game.

much less of a hurdle if I can select them pre match and not get Interrupted with a oh so important choice.

why are people so against the idea that overwatch was so great because of its simplicity. which we are losing wich each patch more.

muscle memory doesn’t really work when hero A uses left twice, hero B uses right twice, Hero C uses left and right and hero D uses right and left.

what I love about stadium is that it doesn’t Interrupt gameplay for items. they have their own phase.

They don’t make that big of a difference. Besides, they provide incentive to not constantly swap throughout the game, which is healthy for the game IMO.

I like the perks. They’re muscle memory for me when I hear the noise and I don’t even see the UI popup. If it’s a character I don’t play much then it takes some time to adjust, just like it does for playing that character but eventually it progresses to looking at a familiar icon and remembering and then transitions into muscle memory as you play them more often.

Just pick a random one and dont do it again if it sucks

had that experience with cassidy. Oh lord what a throw.
works better with fan the hammer on mouse wheel.

Its still a Problem we didn’t had before and Honestly speaking the benefits of the perks in my eyes doesn’t warrant this.

Like cassidys perk actually forced me to swap. it hard nerfed the hero in its default setup.

This is overwatch.

I can swap from playing Mercy to playing Baptiste, no problem. This is a far more drastic change than adding 100 overhealth on rezzes or linking to a second player, don’t you think? Suddenly instead of ducking and weaving around the map I’m just clicking heads and making everyone immortal.

Much like Dva ult, Cryo-Storm is easily countered by the WASD keys.

WHat a genuinely weird thing to say.

Then you’re not very good at playing in a competitive environment. That’s fine, it’s not like there’s prizes or anything. But man, “I can’t keep up” is entirely a you problem.

“Waiter the soup was terrible and there wasn’t enough of it!”

This is normal overwatch.

Let me know how owc feels, as I can’t play it for the next 3 weeks (except weekends)

I was kinda hoping and waiting for it.

Should be the closest to ow1 we ever go nna get imho

but I haven’t tested it yet.

Perks are great.

Getting to laugh at people when you know they’ve picked the bad ones. Adds a little fun to the game.

Like when you see the enemy Ball player has picked the adaptive shields perk. You know you’re going to win.

Nah keep the perks, they mix up the game play and stop it being too stale.

Perks is for slow player. Like mechanically disadvantaged person, who refuse to compete in FPS shooting skill, who must use stacks, crossplay assist, perks, ults, and other gimmick to secure a kill.

Orbital strike inbound, is not 3D FPS skill expression.
OG Overwatch had finesse, but this was pre-crossplay and pre-EOMM rigging.

It has been, especially ruined, since S9. That is when development experts started their cat food diet. By the time perks and stadium builds, they have aluminum in brain from all those empty cans.

Is everything you post you just accusing players of being too “slow”.

Why not show your games to show how lightning fast you are.

(S9, the change that significantly increased player numbers… Ruined the game…)

Just accept that being called slow has triggered you.
It’s ok, you can work on becoming faster.

I don’t care how fast or slow I am. I just play because it’s a fun game.

But, you’ve never shown any of your gameplay. Feel free to do so.
