Can we acknowledge now that Mercy needs help

Oh i remember mercy at that time

Not only streamers werent able to shoot at her at that time.

Nobody was Capable of it XD

Rez on mercy is only useful because she can’t burst heal to keep a person alive in the first place.
Replacing the rez with a “death ward” like ability or a burst heal would be just as useful as rez, but not feel as bad to play against.

Valk has been lackluster for years. Season 9 was the last nail in the coffin for it.
The best part is that it gives her free movement and unlimited ammo.
The numbers on it have always been a bit low. The 30% db should have always been in the ult and never outside of it.
The 60 hps was always a bit too low to be an ult.

Moving her back towards the triage style would personally be preferable.

The fact that Valkyrie has become useless in the game is why, unless my entire team is dying or pushing in the same area, that I just use it to battle Mercy.

It supposed to feel bad to play against. Plus, it being resurrect and not just temporary delay gives some tactical flexibility.

What is main downside of “delay death” buttons? Enemy just has to keep holding left click and your teammate is likely to die anyway, if only a second or two later. Or instant kill is used to ignore it.

Resurrect gives opportunity for surprises. It allows to create smart plays even with players incapable of that.

I quit reading here. Take that cap elsewhere.

She also got 25 HP lopped off. Maybe next patch will change my opinion but right now, the s12 changes to Mercy seem to have been a fairly neutral powershift more than a nerf or a buff.

I frankly think the most major buff she should get is her movement ability back. She can be mid-to-low and people won’t care because her movement was so fun and fluid to use before they nerfed it.

To the people who complain she’s too hard to hit like that, I feel they need to learn to track or aim better (and I say this as someone who hates playing McMeme and Widow/values my gamesense more than my mechanical aim, but can still track ok). If you’re saying this and you play console, sorry, I have nothing for you and know little of your aiming world.

what does valk do better than any other support ult?

ive got 2k hrs on mercy and i utterly despise valk. all it does is make you survive, which isnt enough value when other support ultimates gauruntee that your team dies… so being alive, alone, and losing the objective, is useless.

juno’s ult is literally valk for your team but they get both 100hps and 35% dmg boost at the same time. have you ever valk’d into a juno ult? you lose more times than you survive.

id say nano, or lucio beat are vastly more versatile bc they have multiple ways to secure a team fight win. valk is literally just mercys base kit but made easier, not better… no other support deals with this insane weakness :sob:

I find it hard to believe that anyone with 2000 hours on Mercy doesnt know how strong and versatile Valkyrie is

I’ll leave it at that, as I simply disagree with all the subsequent claims (not quoted) that many other ultimates are better and/or more versatile

i play on pc in masters+, wya? ngl the only place i think someone could think valk is good is in plat or lower, which is also the elo where people actually think mercy is good, and they dont spend the whole game begging you to get off her :upside_down_face:

but im still hoping for an answer from you on “what does valk do better than any other support ult”

I have watched many videos of GM and Top500s playing Mercy, and as such, I know that there are people who play and enjoy her there

I guess the main thing I dont understand is why a person who allegedly has 2000 hours on Mercy would play a character they have hatred for. One would think that such a player would move on to characters they deem more acceptable

Valk is only really useful as a ‘win more’ tool instead of a tide-turner like the rest of the support ults. The only other use it has is to give Mercy a get out of jail free card to go chill in the skybox when stuff gets spicy. (Who wants that? Funnest part of her kit is GA, I wanna use it.)

It needs a rework, badly.

ive been top 500 for most of ow2 one tricking mercy. youre talking to one of those people :sob:

i love everything about mercy except her ultimate. it holds her back so insanely bad. it feels s o bad to valk, and then they nano+blade and we lose. or i valk, and then they sound barrier+speed in and wombo 1-2 squishy teammates for free and we lose. or i valk and bc my team is grouped, they illari sunstrike my 2-3 squishies and explode for 180dmg, essentially one shotting them all on a chain reaction, and we lose.

i just… again, ask you, what does valk do better than any other support ult?

No other ult gives you such a great view of your team being wiped.

I dont see how them being or not being a one trick affects this at all

First, the devs have stated many times that one tricking is a perfectly acceptable way to play the game, so one tricking isnt a problem, actually

second, I do see people in high ranks playing her in high tier matches, so it would seem she does have some value in high tier play

I dont see Valkyrie as holding her back at all

Its power and versatility is immense

I am very happy she has this ability rather than mass rez, which I consider to have been THE worst ability to ever have been in the game

I am really sorry that you hate Valk, but I absolutely love it.

I do however accept that there are many folks on both sides of this fence

okay… what part of it is powerful? what can it do that other support ults cant?

Mercy’s finally got 60hps on a silver plate, what more do you want?!

“you”?

there are many forum members, and many more players who have never even seen the forums

These players are not of one mind when it comes to Mercy

Some want mass rez back. Others want rez removed entirely. With just these two mindsets alone, there is complete disagreement

so, the answer is: there is no one single answer. 100 Mercy players may well give you 100 different answers

I didn’t read it as them having hatred for Mercy. I love and play Mercy a lot (main her / have mained her). Her ult isn’t as immediately impactful as many other ults. Which is fine. It brings decent value over a longer period of time. I do think many ults are better than Mercy’s ult. But that doesn’t mean I hate the character at all, and I didn’t get the impression they do either.
