Dude on your team picks Bastion. Your tanks are Sarya and Wrecking ball for some reason. Enemy team has a widow; who swaps? bastion, Zarya, or Wrecking Ball?
Correct answer: Wrecking Ball swaps to a primary shield tank (pref rein) to give Bastion cover and take advantage of zarya Bubbles.
What actually happens: Team screams at bastion to swap to another DPS (which will get shot by Widow just as easily, because she’s Widow), and pay no attention to Zarya or Hamster getting their heads caved in, because they’re somewhat meta and bastion isn’t.
Posts like this are a good example of this. it’s always the OTHER PERSON who needs to swap, never you. YOU’RE always doing great, and are being brought down by your teammate, the one who’s not playing the hero you think is supremely meta at… mid-gold, I guess? So rather than make your own swap to bolster them, you rant and rave and come to the forums to whinge.
Competitive still remains Competitive after 2/2/2 role - lock and nothing can change that. If you refuse to cooperate in the manner you’re suggesting and in this game mode, then sorry but you shouldn’t be playing it in the first place.
You say that and I’m sure it gives you comfort, but it actually doesn’t cause as much of an issue as people like you make it out to be. I know this because this is how I’ve ALWAYS played and have NEVER been actioned for it.
What you did is essentially an empty threat. No one is scared.
Fair enough, but I went back and watched the replay. Her dps was very low, bad hacks on the wrong targets. Only 2 emps the whole match, one of which was a solo emp. They were running double shield, reaper, doom. We needed a junk, or pharah or basically anything other than sombra’s low damage, and poor hacking.
I wasn’t rude when I asked that player to swap, but my team was very rude.
I was playing bap, he can only do so much. I had clutch lamps prevented 7 deaths, gold healing, silver obj time, low damage, but I had to turn out the healing cuz we couldn’t win any teams fights.
I could have done more as could the rest of my team, but that whole game felt like a 6v5, and theres only so much one can do.
I personally only swap when its necessary (and no i am not a Widow or Hanzo player). Most of the time i swap is when i notice that my current hero becomes unplayable due to either the enemy having a counter that focuses me…
(for example me being Roadhog and the Enemy having an Ana that always throws her anti-heal on me)

(either because no one is using my Shield as a Tank or when the teamcomp simply does not need a Shield)
you mean group of with loud louth randoms or wait to find decent socially competent randoms which could take forever??? many ppl have friends who dont want to play ow… although they play games… my friends dont want to play ow… but i still do… so I cant complain about bad mm is???
This is true, but that still does not change the fact that Throwing is strictly against the TOS, a rule which can and affects a significant amount of the players who refuse to switch no matter what while in Competitive.
Of course I don’t mean by this that you belong in this group of people, but the rule still is there and action is overall taken against offenders, at least I my experience.
I am not saying that they are always right about what they say, but this game suffers greatly from a population of players who play a team game but do nothing to be a good teammate.
And honestly, I just wonder why people even play a team game if they don’t want to work with a team. If everything is about them and no one else matters.
