And what about other people? Language is a two way street. The speaker interacts with the listener, and it only works when both people are on the same page. Just because you don’t think it has meaning doesn’t mean that everyone else shares that opinion.

Because too many people apparently find it offensive for literally no reason at all.
What people intend and what people infer from words or actions are two totally different things. The OP can be legitimately confused because he doesn’t understand how someone could find this offensive. It may have any significant meaning to him and still be a problem.

You do know that “ez” is a gamer slang insult. I think it’s hilarious when someone gets carried and then says “ez” in chat.

Right, and at a certain point you have to come to grips with the fact that words do have established meanings. It’s the basis of language and communication. Saying “ez” has a very specific meaning. If you really want to tell yourself that it’s meaningless/insignificant, I think you’re being willfully ignorant.

Say whatever you want, but when what you’re saying is at another person’s expense, I’d suggest thinking twice. Like you said, a lot of people play games or go on the internet to escape. Do you think it feels good to hear someone say “ez” after they just lost a game?

Unfortunately, you could be banned because its based on how many reports you get. You must of gotten a lot of false reports to get a warning!
