No. The removal of the rework was the single worst idea ever to hit Overwatch (Yes, even worse than launch Season 9). It flatout makes no sense and what minor issues Roadhog may’ve had with PP was traded for major issues with the alt fire, namely the significant power drop, the lack of a tool to control space/movement and the range deadzones where you’re too far for your primary fire to do any meaningful damage but too close for your alt fire to be able to explode.
Roadhog is still weak defensively and now he even weaker offensively. The buffs to his kit are meaningless because its the reintroduction of an issue that was the reason for his rework in the first place: his feast or famine problem.
Because ALL of his offensive power is in the hook, it NEEDS to be effective and that means, if it hits a squishy, it must one shot. If hook isn’t doing that consistently, it means that Hog has nothing more to offer. When he has pig pen, hook didn’t need to be so powerful. Most of its power was distributed to the trap.
If you combined both abilities, you got your consistent one shot. If you used both abilities separately, you got a healthy combination of displacement and crowd control. Additionally, Hogdrogen exposure allowed Roadhog to actually provide some tangible team tanking for his team.
The issue is that EVERY SINGLE OTHER TANK has either two abilities that are offensive or two abilities that are defensive (And some that have one flexible ability that can be used both ways). Roadhog is the only one who only has one offensive and one defensive.
There’s a massive power imbalance here. Roadhog’s winrate is too low but if they buff him again, its gonna make him frustrating to play against for certain folk here. If they nerf him, he’ll be too weak again. Roadhog needs a second offensive ability to better distribute his power so he becomes easier to balance.
