By god I hate spin-to-win so much

Just an infuriating tactic when you’re trying to cap a point.

Rant off.

I thought you were referring to solo queue comp which is more or less gambling unless you severely outclass your rank.

Spin to win. What do you mean?

Sounds like you have a board game version of Overwatch. :compass:

I mean I can see why people hate it. But I can’t see why it would be considered hard to punish. Just saying, stun the hamster and he’s done for or has to retreat

@Zman: OP is referring to the tactic where Wrecking Ball tethers himself to a pillar on the objective or payload and spins in a circle as a means to contest the objective

annoying to deal with too i feel. but thank goodness my team always has one form of CC to stop that menace

I’m always glad when I see spin to win, it shows they’re desperate and it’s not all that effective use of a tank slot.

Lots of heroes can deal enough damage or stun cancel it.

My favorite scenario is when there are two hamsters spinning in opposite directions. The fight goes to whichever one ults on point first.

Um, it’s really easy to stop.

i kind of wonder if we will have more of these type of heroes in OW2. if they do i hope they create hero that has a DETONATE NUCLEAR WEAPON on point ult…(can only use it on point or objective)

I’ll grant you, when someone switches to Ball to stall, and you aren’t ready for it, it can be momentarily frustrating.

Every single role has the means to stop spin-to-win. Accretion, charge, halt, hook. Plenty of CC from dps. Bash, sleep, boop. If red team is running Ball and your team has no CC, that’s on you.

And unless your team is terrible, or blind, the hamster is doing you a favor. He isn’t doing any meaningful damage unless you let him, he’s moving in a predictable path and is therefire incredibly easy to shoot, and he has no defense at all against any of your CC.

Ball gets so much less value playing spin-to-win than if he just plays the game. It’s really only useful for a few seconds of stall, or if you just need a couple boops to build minefield.

Imagine there was a hero that could totally shut down annoying abilities.

Yes, but when you’re on attack on OT on a 2cp/payload map and the enemy swaps ball to spin you can’t just go back to spawn to swap to Sombra there.

Maybe learn to stun the predictably moving ball with a massive hitbox. It’s not the hamsters fault you can’t aim or land your abilities.

Its even worse if your team ignores the ball.

If your team ignores any hero you deserve to lose, even the worst heros in the game like bastion

Even if I’m the only one that swaps? They deserve to lose, not me. I just get punished for it.

Are you calling out the ball In voice, tracking his cooldowns, knowing which health packs the ball player is using so you can fight him when he’s retreating and low health.

You don’t even need to swap to counter ball, just use your brain. Just most of the OW playerbase is used to relying on crutch abilities instead of learning core fps skills so when a hamster who has developed those skills comes along and can outplay your cheese you get rekt.

Yeah ball is annoying but he’s also one mistake away from feeding 600hp if the team he’s fighting isn’t massively below his skill level.

Huh, I was thinking the same thing. Let’s make her a mexican girl who happens to be a hacker. She could hack you leaving you without abilities to fend yourself off. She could also have the ability to run around while invisible and use a translocator to go around the map to escape damage. We should name her Sombra :woman_shrugging:

Hanmond on point spinning in circles, knocking everyone back and doing 50 damage each pass (am I wrong about damage amount?)

I think my teammates can see a ball spinning on the cart.

So trying to counter him is not using my brain? What is next? I don’t need to move to win?

If ball is a problem that I should deal with it the best way I could. That means getting ride of him fast. Even if my team won’t do it.

That is like saying you don’t need a car, just walk instead.

With that logic you should never swap at all for anything. Just use your “brain” instead.

He’s always feeding, but he’s still annyoing.
