Not to buff an oppressive broken ability that has no counterplay and was a mistake. It’s also a low skill ability, for 95% of its uses.

Hi, have you played overwatch within the last three months? Armor’s tissue paper. it got nerfed, remember? because Damage players were mad that tanks were not two-shot kills.

Just like Defense matrix got nerfed because damage players were mad that back lines were not free kills.

This game is balanced around the egos of kids who can’t be the JV quarterback of their school so they pick Doomfist instead.

And yet dm still has never not even once been even tied with barriers. It doesnt block 3 support ultimates (it blocks zero), it doesnt block beams, it doesnt block explosions, it doesnt block basic heals as much as barriers do, and it doesnt even block as many ultimates that barriers do. Barriers do all of the stuff in the list btw.

Its time that dm stop being put on a pedstal when its not even the top tank ability in the game.

Also if you are wondering what basic heals barriers stop here is a list: moria hand heal, Lucio aura, Brig inspire, Ana, Baptiste both of his heals.

Dm stops ana, baptiste gernades and moria orb. And of note hand healing of moria is her bread and butter orb is more of a secondary option. Also dm stops less of moria and baptiste’s total abilties than barriers do.

It’s not oppressive in the sense that it doesn’t keep anything out of viability. It only makes people mad, which is not a proper reason to nerf it.

Hack, Freeze, Stuns all interrupt it and put it on cooldown, Hack and Freeze also prevent its use past the cooldown. There’s also everything that ignore it, like beams, melees, AoEs…
Alternatively, you can destroy the mech. It’s really not that hard nowadays.

Nerfing it to the ground or removing it are even bigger mistakes, as it removes the only real counterplay to a bunch of abilities, like Graviton Surge or Biotic Orbs.

It requires a lot of game awareness, something barriers don’t need. It even requires aiming.
It is a skillful ability. The only time you could argue it’s low skill is when the enemy just throw stuff in it. Of course it’s easy to get things delivered on a silver platter.

I mean yeah that nerf literally butchered 70% of the range of the matrix and it killed dva. As if before she wasnt killed already

Revert the armor nerfs and the GOATS era defense matrix nerfs. It’s that simple.

Of course, this is Blizzard… and Blizzard never ever reverts, ever, because that totally would be admitting they actually really did made a literal mistake.

I’m calling it now:

  • armor will block a flat 20% of damage (like it already does vs beams)
  • dm cooldown reduced from 2 seconds to 1.5
  • dm range increased to 12 meters

Doubt because dev bias against Dva is pretty sky high. Fairly unfortunate since matrix is a pretty important ability.

Hog, Rein, Sigma, Zarya, Hammond, Winston can attack/CC D.Va right through DM.
Mei, Sombra, DF, Symmetra can attack/CC D.Va right through DM.
Mercy, Moira, Lucio, Zen, Brig can heal through enemy DM. Brig, Moira, Zen can attack/CC/debuff through DM.

But muh McCree! I don’t want to wait for 2 seconds before using Flashbang or finishing Dedeye. Not fair!

or its just salty tank mans that can’t one trick D.va anymore.
and have to play a second hero and realize not every tank is a big fat dps except maybe hog but hog isn’t as mobile so less fun and now they can’t play anything anymore bc the evil dps mains have cried so much tanks can’t play anything else.

We don’t need any more buffs. D.Va is out shined by the shield tanks. We need to nerf the top heroes or the power creep will just get worse. We really don’t need any more buff at this point.

Her matrix received a pretty big buff recently so obviously that’s not the problem
