BSOD while playing Overwatch 2

I am getting a BSOD (Blue Screen of Death) while playing Overwatch 2. My stop code is, “DPC_Watchdog_Violation”. I have gotten two BSOD while playing in the last 24 hours.

After my first crash, I tried reinstalling my graphics driver and disabling TPM on my motherboard. I looked at Windows Event Viewer and I could not find any useful information regarding the crash.

After my second crash, I open command prompt as administrator and typed the following command “/sfc scannow”. CMD found corrupt files and fixed them.

After my third crash, I open command prompt as administrator and typed “CHKDSK C: /F /R”. Then I uninstalled NVIDIA Broadcast.

Steps I have taken to attempt to fix this issue:

  • Run “/sfc scannow” in CMD as Administrator
  • Run “CHKDSK C: /F /R” in CMD as Administrator (Drive where Overwatch 2 is stored)
  • Disabled TPM/fTPM on Motherboard BIOS
  • Clean reinstall of latest NVIDIA drivers (517.48)
  • Check for updates (Windows 10)
  • Uninstalled NVIDIA Broadcast

I’m having the same issue, you’re not the only one.

I found a forum addressing this issue as well. Apparently the BSOD is caused by running NVIDIA Broadcast software.
