Bring back Freja 2 tap

But reduce take aim projectile size, this hero currently has zero impact and it reminds me when they took hanzo’s 1 tap from him where he was just useless but blizzard tried so many different things with him until they realized he was only viable with 1 tap headshot.

Agreed! Even when she had her 2 tap people were starting to figure out how to deal with it. It’s damage over time so if you use any sort of mitigation or healing it’s not a 2 tap

Freja is a very demanding hero mechanically and she has zero reward for the skill put into it

Yet heroes like Bastion and Sierra can exist, which take zero skill and have maximum value

She can 2 tap if you land a headshot? Or you have a mercy pocket.

I’m good not having 2 body shots. That honestly sucked. Pure miserable, and so over powered.

I agree. I’m also over the exploding bolt gimmick. Remove it and give her charged shots hard 75 damage on impact. Reward hitting headshots on a marksman hero.

Freja is ELO terrorist. :expressionless_face: I simply know that the game is unwinnable if one shows up on my team. x100 so, if enemies have Ashe.

It’s very hard to land : the aimed shot remains a projectile, and using it slows you down.

You’re basically playing a sniper with projectiles that can’t even two-tap anything beyond 225 hp. And the explosion is delayed, which means enemies have the time to heal up between two shots if a support is near. Zen putting his healing orb on anyone is enough to turn a 2 shot into 3 on any 225 hp target.

Her current win rate is the second lowest in the game, and she is hard to play. This means mastering her isn’t even worth it.

She really needs something.

You aint landing headshots consistently on most characters.

And even if you do, you also need to IMMEDIATELY land another shot or else your dmg will result in support ult charge for their team.

And considering your main targets as freja are mostly supports…they definitely will get self sustain lmao.

In a game where most dps can easily kill faster and easier, there is no reasons for freja not being able to.

As for mercy pocketing being a problem for the dmg breakpoint…
Maybe time to adress the elephant in the room that is the blue beam.

There is so many dps who got nerfed/cant be buffed because of the tought : “what if mercy pockets and damage boosts this character ,”

That is a fair point. Even back when she could two-tap it was hard to land.

But she was nerfed for that reason. In upper ranks it doesn’t matter how hard something is to pull off if most players at that rank could pull it off consistently. She was extremely oppressive and uninteractive.

I do agree that she needs something, but that something is not her two tap.

What if the two tap would come back at the cost of a slightly longer time between the stick and the detonation ?

This would give to supports a bit more time to react to counter the incoming damage burst, while punishing squishies who isolate themselves (which should be Freja’s main targets IMO).

Other suggestion : make the detonation multi-stage ? Reduce the main explosion power and add a second explosion. That would be three smaller bursts of damage : a higher damage count in a single hit, but over a longer duration. Should make healing through it far more manageable. This could also allow you to do some area denial if landing your shots on the floor on purpose : I like the idea of making something versatile like this.

Would hurt her tbh, I feel like metal ranks only hated her as much as they did because everyone there has beyond trash positioning which means Freja got very easy picks off them.

2 shot body shots definitely isn’t what she needs though, that was a fundamental design flaw given Freja could get crits that still 2 shot headshot despite the 2 shot body shot.

If she gets 2 shot body shot back, it should come at the cost of no crits at all on the take aim, though even that would still be unfun to fight.

I doubt the metal ranks have the skill to pull her out efficiently to begin with… Unless someone is smurfing or doing a bronze to GM thing ? In which case it just means the Freja player was good IMO.

Unsure… In one hand, removing the headshot condition on an explosion makes sense and it would give a sanity check in GM games when fighting anything that that goes past the 250 hp landmark. On the other hand it would lower the skill ceiling and I’m not sure if it’s something we want.

I’m almost sure there’s a way to bring back the 2 tap thing without atrociously breaking the game though.

What if we implemented reverse falloff on that arrow (long range shots would be more powerful than close range ones) ? The idea being to enable two-taps, but only past a certain range.

As long her design is mix of sojourn and pharah, uninteractive flying and spamming explosive bolts from Narnia, she cannot be buffed

its not damage over time its delayed burst. now, if it actually WAS damage over time that would probably be THE fix to allow her to still have a 2 tap technically if no or 2 little healing is involved.

I think this is a good idea in theory, but I also think that that goes too far in the other direction of that feeling clunky and horrible to play as the Freja player.

This does sound cool

While I think she needs some kind of buff, the two bodyshot was too strong, although I think sojourn, ashe and emre are too in the same way now. I would take out her primary entirely from her kit if she had to have those two bodyshots.

I saw her being played in the finals of the tournaments so is not that bad. And as someone that play her, she plays better without those two body shots because she uses all her entire kit now, she just needs better cds.

It’s not like hanzo at all, that was a storm arrows bot at that time and needed 3-4 body shot to kill.
