Too many people lacked the situational awareness for a character like dps Doomfist to be brought back.
The best you can hope for is for dps fist to return in one of the “a glance a overwatch along the way” events.

He’ll definitely make it into one of the announced OWClassic events. In fact, probably more than one, because Moth was a couple of months after his release.
