OK nice but umm… this is more like a reminder of what Brig should be doing. All of this is obvious due to her kit. I mean, it’s the basis of what you should be doing with her… am I right? Btw this is all good but that doesn’t make her viable in her current iteration, in fact she is really pretty bad right now with double shield she is not meta at all because she can’t proc Inspire. You can do all of what you say in your guide but she gets melted pretty fast while she tries to keep inspire up. I play at 32 hundred sr and that’s what happens when we have Brig. She is a very niche hero now don’t get me wrong she may work in very few escenarios but that’s it.
Btw if you say you are GM and writting a guide you should at least have your profile public.
Thanks for this, I think the Brig hate is blown out of proportion. She’s not OP anymore and can actually main heal for the most part if you play right. I find people are still too used to playing aggressive with her. If you stick close to your team, use their barriers, and natural map cover, you should do well. Your best advice is to keep 1 armor pack stored and ready at all times. I noticed this too and it helped a ton.
She wasn’t OP for a long time and could main heal just fine. This is all extremely basic Brig stuff, and still doesn’t touch upon the shield being paper-thin being her biggest issue.
I like to try and always make sure I’m never at max charges, so that I don’t waste resources. I like to stick it on flankers or tanks about to take damage, would you recommend this or is it more important to have all three going into a teamfight?
You do realize double shield counters Brig? Orisa spam melts her shield too fast and she can’t proc inspire because the enemy has two shields to get through.
Sadly, right now everything melts her shield too fast. McCree can do it in a second or less. So can a lot of others. And so much of what she did needed that shield. Her old playstyle was so fun, so knightly. Now she just feels like a really boring and really subpar healbot to me with nothing special to her.
If Mcree is hitting three shots on you within a second one of you two has horrible positioning. Orisa spam is tough on Brig because of her hitbox being bigger than most supports and she doesn’t have a way to escape it, but the shields blocking inspire, rally, and whip shot for inspire proc is the real reason she sees little play.
No. Her self sustain is too low. Even if she’s functionally the main healer, you have to run her with Ana/Moira/Baptiste. She pairs badly with the off healers.
Fair. Brigitte greatly benefits from playing around her barrier tank.
Also, fair. As Brigitte, you’ve always gotta keep an eye on the front line and the backline.
The drawback is being one shot by snipers or seriously hurt by spam. Using your barrier in the poke phases is kinda necessary, not because you necessarily need it, but because it’s better to be safe than get headshot across the map like an idiot.
Yes, I’ve had to train myself with this. Don’t dump Repair Packs into teammates. Start with one and give it a second to see if more is needed. There’s no real downside to waiting a bit since dumping packs increases the duration not the healing per second.
That’s pretty obvious lol. Idk why you needed to mention it.
True. If you don’t need it, don’t use it. The stun is overkill a lot of the time and bash does barely any damage. If there’s an enemy Reaper, I might only use bash 1-2 times per round because I don’t want to give him an opening for blossom.
Rally is a win more ultimate. Use it to press an advantage and you’ll get tons of value.
It’s also decent at saving a fight that gets messy on both sides with the extra sustain.
Don’t use Rally if your team is in serious danger. Use it when you’re expecting to be in a difficult fight before it starts to turn really bad.
Mid/High PC Brigitte Main and Brig Defender Extraordinaire
No, YOUR brig hate was blown out of proportion. She wasn’t OP before.
All these “she’s fine now at her trash pickrate” are probably the same people who didn’t want to switch off genji and are now worried she migth get buffed.
Why do I think this? Because despite so many people saying she’s fine THEY DON’T PLAY HER. That’s kinda dead giveaway.
Not really, though. McCree can do it from pretty good range, and you need to be close in order to land any kind of hits on anyone to get the bulk of her healing. She was never built to rely solely on Whip Shot for Inspire, and that’s part of why she’s so lackluster. The other part being she just can’t do half of what her kit demands because of the shield HP.
Because you said “she is really bad right now even with double shield”, that phrasing makes it sound like you think she should be good in double shield. Oh well, semantics are tough on the forums, my bad.
Yeah, but the actual design of the abilities and her kit makes it so that it doesn’t work. She can’t rely on it, even before double barrier meta, and it just doesn’t really work.
Also, tanks can only cover so much. Cover can only cover so much. In order to trigger your healing, you have to get into danger. In order to peel, you have to get into danger. It’s what her kit was designed to do, but it’s just not any good at it anymore. The shield nerf hurt her more than anything else.
Believe me, I do know how to play her. I have many hours on Brig. I know how her kit is designed to be played. But they didn’t change enough stuff to make up for the basic design flaw that goes with the nerfs. I’m very unhappy with the changes.
