do you cry for having paid €/$10 for such a tiny digital content and realize that it wasn’t worth it?
evidently YOU are the problem who gave them this chance to say “it’s a viable market”, like the people who go and buy the PORTING of RDR on ps4 at absurd prices from dayone. “let’s vote with our wallet”: YOU told them that it was a correct way to earn money for skins that will also one day become old enough to be spammed for free. Or heavy sales, as today for so much skins in anniversary.
It is your own choice to sink money into any item put on a market, by doing so you fully accept that at some point, it may become free through some extension. Warframe is very much like this; you can choose to pay $60-80 USD to get Prime variants of Warframes, gear, weapons, and cosmetics, or you can just grind for them individually, even further you can trade them for Plat which can be earned, but ultimately they might become free, fully made with a Reactor/Catalyst already installed by watching a Twitch stream or participating in an event.
But you know what? We never had this problem when everything was earned through lootboxes, so
By saying that, it sounds like you didn’t have it.
Regardless, you should know as a Prime member that games and items are given away that were at a cost as well - this time it just so happened to be something you bought. Totally expected with the service.
Plenty of games work this way. PSplus for example. Game comes out and it’s a full $70 and a year later it’s free. This isn’t that weird. Also let’s not hate the devs for the first time they do something like this please. It’s a good thing.
I can actually answer this: things seem more valuable when they cost more. That goes double for items that are already special in the first place. I learned this lesson when I was a kid, and I suddenly wanted to buy fruit after the staff at lunch started selling unique fruit in addition to the average fruit they gave away for free.
It’s not free as Prime costs money and skins are random. Idc, i bought Owl guard Mercy too. And whatever gets people skins I’m for it since lootboxes were removed and 60 credits per week is silly.
Lol wth people here has complete different perspective on this than on social media. It’s very very scummy sales technique to put something on sale to squeeze every penny they can take, before they give it for free. But then again, it’s Blizzard, and bold of us to expect a minimum level of decency from them.
Personally, I wish they would be more transparent with their sales strategies. They manage the store very bad and everything is always chaos and confusion, which of course can lead them to less profit, because not everything is FOMO.
