BOTH PCs Lost Connection to Server

Hi,

my sibling and I both have our own desktops at home, and we often play Overwatch together. Recently, we both would get “Lost Connection to Server” error at the exact same time, and will need to exit the game and connect our BattleNet online again. We already tried changing our router to a newer set, but no difference. We never had this issue till this week. Any help would be appreciated.

Are you playing on a wired or wireless connection? If you plug directly into the modem, is this issue still happening? If you have reset the modem, router, and plugged in with the issue persisting, we can look over a WinMTR test for you. Blizzard Support - Running WinMTR This test spots packet loss and high ping, which can lead to disconnects.

Update: I was playing training on my own and I had the same issue again. I already tried resetting the modem as well.

Yes, we use a wired connection. We will try to reset the modem and router to see if anything changes.

Also, I’m worried because the constant disconnecting resulted in me getting a warning of a penalty for leaving my games. I’m afraid that if this problem persists, my account gets penalized unjustly.

Hey there Nicole, this has been happening numerous times over the past few weeks. I have been monitoring the threads and this topic has come up consistently. It is not a personal connection issue on our part. It’s something to do with Blizzard.

Hello Nicole.

I can’t update my other thread because no one else has posted there, so I’ll put it here, same issue.

I’ve been through a lot of troubleshooting with my ISP and they are unable to find any issues on my line. I have replaced the modem and router, still occurring. Here is a recent WinMTR. The third-last hop is really big, I’m wondering if this could be the issue?

Can you both please post a WinMTR test? The servers aren’t experiencing issues at this time, so it’s likely something between you and Blizzard.

You didn’t run the test for long enough to get a very accurate picture of what’s going on. Right now, the line coming in to your home looks to be taking over 1 full second to respond, when it should be at 100ms or preferably less.
