Boomer samito dismantles 5v5

He does have gamer rage moments sure, I think he might be bipolar, or gains bipolar tendencies on stims. I don’t really like his personality either. Especially when he trash talks and bullies people in game just for picking a hero.

But as for your quote above… Just use critical thinking. Separate the personality from the argument. Listen to the points of argument, do the points sound like valid points? Yes? Take mental notes. No? Filter out the nonsense. This is pretty much how you should treat every argument with anyone, intention to understand both sides before forming your own opinion. If you don’t do this, your opinion is not really your opinion, it is someone else’s opinion who’ve convinced you to believe it.

That’s why I thoroughly enjoyed SVB’s podcast with debates. He allows both sides of the argument to have their voice. This means no matter what side of the argument you’re on, you still have to listen to the opposing sides points.

The wrong (imo) thing to do is to stay inside an echo chamber and just pay attention to personalities you like and trust, ignoring any and every points of argument from an opposing side. That’s a slave mentality that political cults (left/right wings) want the population to have.

I’ve watched Samito over the years and I fully believe he is someone who uses critical thinking to come to his own opinions. This is why his opinions can change over the years with experience and new knowledge. A good critical thinker will always be open to changing their opinion when new knowledge supports the change.

TLDR You don’t have to like someone to pay attention to their argument. And it’s a great thing to always try to avoid echo chambers and challenge your opinion to scrutiny by hearing out the other side.

This is exactly what was said in the video for the most part, he added several other good things. His closing statement was that in 2 years’ time when 5v5 has stripped OW of identity even further and more of the reasons people fell in love with the game is removed, there won’t be anything to fix because it simply will just be dead at that point.

These issues need to be fixed now or we really are going to just lose OW.

Samito sounds in spanish like “vomito” (not vómito as in noun = vomit), and it can mean: “yo vomito” = “I vomit / I throw up”.

He does tend to have that effect on people.

Nobody said that. It would just be easier to do so. Imagine if they put all the work they did in 5v5 to 6v6 instead. They made the problem of tanks not liking to play the role themselves by not addressing the gameplay issues.

I mean the community is right to dislike him for how he carries himself. He goes into screaming baby rage over nothing. I saw a compilation of him raging and saying… unpleasant things. He is also just very whiney and has a lot of bad takes. When it comes to this issue though, he is just speaking pure facts and doesn’t even come across as whiney. Like, I don’t think there was a single part of this video or his other 6v6 one that I didn’t agree with at least somewhat.

making it 5v5 somehow magically solved the balance problems in the game.

Fixed that for you.

This forums is just not able to look beyond their hate for the dude, i dont like his raging or bad takes, but here he is hitting it right on with proper facts and is much needed when people like your overwatch are trying to gloss over the fact a majority of tanks arent happy.

Yeah. The content creators who advocate 5 v 5 are all DPS or support players. And the biggest ones are on the content creator team. So whether they consciously realize it or not, whether they deny it or not, they’re shills. They don’t want to lose that position.

Flats and Emongg say they like 5 v 5 more but they’re on Blizzard official content creator team. As much as they try to deny it, they’re shills through and through. When Flats talks about tank in 5 v 5 you can tell he has words that he’s holding back. He knows 5 v 5 is miserable for tank. But he kisses Aaron Keller’s behind so hard there might be some tongue punching the fartbox action…

Are there any tank mains here in OW2? People who play exclusively tank? Because OW1 had them. Even if you’re okay playing tank in OW2, do you play it even half as much as one of the other roles?

I’m not at all surprised if most of the tank players I see in game are just doing their daily and weeklies. That’s the only reason I would queue tank, but I don’t care enough for them to bother with that.

He is truly a great guy, flawed like anyone, but honest. I haven’t personally agreed with all his takes in the past either, but one thing I respect him for is that he never makes point blank statements about anything without also trying to make a good case for his arguments with reasoning and good examples.

I’m sure you would find likemindedness in his content if you’re similarly inclined to not hold back if something icks you the wrong way or appears to be incorrect/misleading.

And this is the proof that your head indeed isn’t okay. Seek out mental help dude.

This is just what the angry forum mob has been saying about him. Sam never said he quit Overwatch. He specifically, on multiple occasions, said that he will not leave Overwatch, he will just stop streaming it as his fulltime job, but he’ll still make occasional content or go into ranked sessions which he often live streams.
The only thing he himself has said, is that Overwatch will no longer be his personal no1 priority, and off stream he will focus much more on Mineplex and put the majority of his time into that.
His YT channel as it stands now is still directly tied to OW content, that’s why that’s still the only thing you see from him. But the quantity is 10x less than what it used to be.

So I should do exactly what I did?

I saw 10 videos like that from him and he never used any logic, so I should just filter that out?

I mean at what point, in your view, one can say that “I am not wasting time here, since this person doesn’t bring value to the discussion”?

Keep defending him, I’m sure he’ll notice you one day.

Seems pretty definite to me. No-one’s suggesting he said he’d never touch the game ever again. He was very-much out, though.

And this isn’t the first time.

I figured you’d know this

Dude lost any claim to the moral high-ground the minute he said

As for what I’ve said about Samito - literally of it is true. He has ragequit multiple times and returned each time. In this particular case, he is obviously farming rage-clicks for cash. He has suggested balance changes that the wider community has hated in the past (in particular, there were two experimental changes for Moira that were directly his idea and both were completely awful). And he has made an obviously stupid choice in buying the money-pit that is Mineplex - probably why he’s come back to making Overwatch content again.

Those aren’t insults. They’re facts. If his fanboys don’t like them, that’s too bad. They’re welcome to write more multi-paragraph fanfiction about what Samito really thinks and what his actual motivation is, by all means. That really doesn’t change anything though.

Key point is 5v5 is bad and unsustainable

I think it was “I will educate you by stomping your matches” ML7 who said that.

10 minutes into the video so far… not seeing any dismantling whatsoever

In reality this is 1st video where I disagree with him more that agree, freedo is same. Both did stupid points ignoring actual game issues which is development that will ruin any format catering to casual play instead of competitive which is just unnatural for the game. Plus his “this is worse in 5v5 than was in 6v6” list of claims are even more dumb and his most argument is tank counterswitching that is simply fix by adding switching penalty mechanic to the game instead of rewarding it with ult saving for 30%. And his comments on q time issues of ow1 was so obviously made up, like he was not playing 4-6 dps comps in his life and only DLC tanks ruined that and aoe healing.

I thought boomers were old people with gray hairs and cig smoking?
