I am playing Wild Rift (LoL on mobile), and the battlepass system is pretty good. It help create an money influx and add a lot, and when I say a lot, it is a lot, of new content and balances patches.
If OW can be half-good as that I will be satisfied.
Why are they refunding them?
Because that’s the general stance games companies take on pre-orders.
That’s what I don’t get about these forums, they want to protest but they keep playing. Exactly like you said.
If they stop playing and doing even the smallest things to support OW2, then you’ll see changes.
Since the purchase is a pre-sale & is why the refunds are going through, I imagine that it won’t be refunded, once the game launches.

The issue is, the very nature of a F2P game means that veterans quitting really won’t affect much. There will always be new players. By getting the pack refunded, it sends a stronger message to Blizzard. They haven’t just stopped making money, they’re actively losing money that they believed they already made. Both send a message, but ultimately, the player count means a lot less.
Everyone should be doing this. Not because of Blizzard, but because if consumers don’t realise they have a spine, this bollocks is going to get worse and worse.
It’s disgusting how many players support workplace sexual assault, and the mass diversity firings of 2019, yeah we’ve forgotten about those, fish memory.
if they are going to do heroes that are behind an unlock wall. I think this game can expect to be in the dumpster bin by the end of the year and the launch wont go well.
If blizzard wants to MONETIZE the game. They should go through with a two part system that makes it fun and fair for all.
Option A
Buy a SKIN for .25-50 cents EACH. Which puts the account in at 90-181 dollars in value.
Option B
Players should have to play each match OUT and earn some form of currency PER completed match.
Each Cosmetic skin should cost 1,000 Credits ea.
Each completed match should award 10 coins to the player.
EXAMPLE:

Only way I dont return it is IF they give us a big update prior to launch and clear this up for the better. If its another classic case of Blizz ignoring player feedback and being scummy I wont be playing this game. Been interested in Apex and may take the chance to play that instead
My group will inevitably try OW2 so I have no reason to refund it. I still wouldn’t have purchased it otherwise so there would be no need for a refund.
My suggestion is to make a decision before the end of the month, as refunds may take 4 or 5 business days.
I put in my refund request when they announced the forced BP interaction. It was pushed through today. 
Heroes unlock at tier 55 of 80 on the free pass. Feels like a good time to send this back to the top!
I encourage everyone who hates this to refund their watchpoint packs before October!
