Blizzard / Team4 Staff is really upset right now

They are already 40€ … Just you know they do these great and fair and amazing discounts on day 1.

Cool. Not everyone is in your situation. Some likely moved hours away due to the increasing cost of rent in this country.

And if they’re living paycheck to paycheck? The frick are they supposed to do?

Just go homeless lol it’s that easy.

Again, please do some reading…

This isn’t like how it is for you or me. Not all of them get up and live 30 minutes or 10 minutes or even an hour from work.

That, and how they’re pinning shortcomings on the remaining employees, just after losing a bunch of employees… and then …

Honestly dude just do some @$&ing reading holy crap. Like all these barren takes are really showing me some issues with people lately

Either move or find another job that allows them to WFH?

Someone with experience in computer programming or designing shouldn’t really have to struggle with finding employment

What are you talking about? Looks like you’re the one with issues here. Calm down or get therapy or smth.

This was genius.

Also, I’m pretty sure competition for design positions is probably brutal

Seriously, just read into it. You’ll figure out what’s going on quick.

Do you have access to every devs personal banking account or how are you so sure that they are “living pay check to pay check” and have absolutely no money saved nor the ability to find another job if they wanted to?

Can you say without a shadow of a doubt that none of them are? Considering the insane cost of living in that state, I couldn’t.

And if you can’t say that, then just saying “just get another job lol” is cruel and unrealistic. Considering the pushback from employees, it’s clear that there’s reasons they don’t just want to quit.

I’ll give it a go.

ActiBlizz is a vile, greedy, scumbag organisation that only cares about accruing as much immediate profit as they can, with no regards to their customers, their public image, or the health or wellbeing of their own employees. The fact that Bobby Kotick remains in charge despite constant mismanagement of the company and the constant barrage of downright evil controversies within the company is proof positive that ActiBlizz leadership are worse than the fecal stains on Trump’s underwear. Even Electronic Arts looks like a saintly company compared to ActiBlizz, and I pity the poor overworked, underpaid and constantly harassed staff that work for them.

I’ll see you in 7 days or so, I guess.

Literally some of them just busted a lot of cash moving based on the WFH system.

Now imagine busting more cash moving back… and then they return to the WFH system! lmao

It’s not, it’s literally being realistic

Changing jobs and moving for whatever reason is something normal that people do.

I’ve had to do this and even my family

So yeah, saying “just find a new job if your unhappy” isn’t sadistic it’s just being real lmao

Tons of companies are offering permanent WFH positions post-covid era (ex. Shopify, Apple, Microsoft).
These are primarily software based jobs. Overwatch (and other Blizz products) fall(s) under this category.

The only people who need to be in office are those who manage hardware or people, and even managing people is debatable in a software development environment.

Most development is probably in a repo (like github or something) which will allow you to literally pull/push code from anywhere so long as you have the credentials to do so.

Which is exactly what the best developers at Blizzard will do meaning that in about a year you are going to see a massive drop off in quality.

It’s what a number already have done! Even before this. Now imagine having to deal with this too…

It’s also blowing me away some people seem to think being at the office is going to improve the game… like it’s the devs are are calling the shots…

It’s not “just being real.” For many Americans it’s impossible. 63% of Americans live paycheck to paycheck, and that would make quitting impossible.

It’s not an issue of personal responsibility. It’s an issue of workers rights.

And of course you’re going to ignore this. Of course.

I mean, my GF and I just got into a nice, new townhome complex, like pretty great, and the cost of living in BC Canada, especially near Vancouver, is mind-numbing. We don’t live pay cheque to pay cheque, but for us it would be an absolute nightmare to relocate, afford to relocate, and or find new jobs that make as much as we do now.

Literally it would be a huge issue. I mean, I’ve been at my job for 12.5 years. She’s been with hers nearly as long.

Exactly, and especially in California, where the cost of living is mind numbing in cities, a number of the employees likely moved to cheaper areas when the company went wfh.

I used to have a friend who lived in the long beach area. She got a good job as a back end dev… she makes a lot of money, so does her boyfriend.

Took them forever to find a reasonable place to live, and it’s based off of her WFH almost exclusively allowing her to do that.
