Blizzard, Please Implement a Surrender Feature

So I just had this fun little game where one of my dps decided to throw 15 seconds into the game because he overextended and blamed the healers for not healing him. He proceeds to yell at the supports and when the other dps and tank say that it was actually his fault, not the supports, he leaves voice chat and says he’s throwing the rest of the match in team chat. For the next 10 minutes on Oasis, I tried to heal my tank and dps the best i could but we still lost cause our other dps was sitting in some corner doing nothing but looking at a wall.

My point is, why should i have to waste my time on these pathetic toxic players. Just like in Valorant and csgo, as a team we should be able to surrender and save ourselves from having to deal with toxic babies for an extra 10-20 minutes. It makes your game not fun blizzard. If you can’t do anything to make players not throw, give your players the option to end matches when at least 4/5 teammates decide that it should end. Nothing in this game is worse then having your time wasted and letting other people have power over that.

You’ll just get trolls who vote no.

Report game sabotage and move on

I am not opposed to surrender feature, but give how short OW battles overall, not sure if it’s that necessary.

that happens in every game with surrender systems, but that doesnt mean that the system doesnt work.

Then you’ll have people give up early or out of frustration and say “guys just surrender this is pointless”

thats the point of needing 4 out of 5 votes. If you and another player dont want to surrender, then u dont have to. But if most the team is already giving up and u dont, whats the point of playing anyways. Your team at that point doesnt want to play anyways, would u rather waste your time with people that dont wanna play? or end the match there and queue up for a new one.

If you don’t acknowledge and ignore the people having a temper tantrum, they will often reason “Well I got to vent and no one said anything back to trigger me more. I’m stuck here so I might as well try even if just to boost my stats for challenges and MMR” If you acknowledge them or worse try to argue with them, that is when you end up with them folding their arms over their chest and saying “HUM!” like a child. This is why I play without text or voice chat enabled. If I want to voice chat, I’ll find a pre-made group.

No, the games are short enough as it is. If the matches were long, like 30 CSGO rounds long, that would be different. But they aren’t. So there’s no need. Just hang out for a few minutes exploring stuff in the level lol…

You had people who did this with Kick Vote back in the day and it still worked fine.

I think it’s a good idea and would probably help with increasing average play time. It feels like 95% of the time I close out of Overwatch due to frustration it’s right after spending 20min in one of these games. I feel like in most of them 80% of the team would agree the problem is due to one specific teammate.

If your team is willing to surrender it should be willing to just give up right? let the enemy just cap the point

If the team “surrenders”, then the match will be over quickly anyway. No need to pander to poor sportsmanship, imo.

when people have maybe 1-2 hours of free time b4 sleep and work, yes time is being wasted with toxic players.

Do you also only sit through the best parts of a movie or sports game?

is someone in that movie theater screaming at you and blocking the screen?

Im talking about while you sit on your couch, like with a video game.

World of Warcraft has a vote option to kick someone and replace them immediately with a random person from the same queue.

It’s effective, and yes, while it can be abused, it doesn’t happen nearly enough to say the system doesn’t work.

It does work. If someone is being toxic, replace them and move on.

Nobody should have to go through this garbage when someone decides to throw.

Why isn’t this against the code of conduct?

A surrender option would work too, but the kick option works just as good.

This is a bad analogy that doesn’t apply to this situation.
