Blizzard knows how to fix matchmaking but won't

It’s worse than that. There is no matchmaking rank thresholds at all. They deleted it entirely. Bronze can play with gms.

It’s the week end, the majority of players are 8 to 12 years old kids playing lone wolf and Halo-CoD deathmatch, it’s good for selling them overpriced skins, it’s awful for matches quality.

No the match quality is just as bad if I play during the week. Even in the afternoon on a week day

yes, veterans are leaving, replaced by new f2p players who play stupidly and don’t care.

They need to fix this fast before more veteran players leave.

Current matchmaking is intentional and one of activisions forced player retention strategies. It’s made the game so much worse to the point I’d rather deal with late stage OW1 smurfing issues than these games. I can play 2 games max before I can’t stomach ow2 anymore. It’s to the point I just chill in the practice range/customs cause QP/ranked is awful

Yes, to these two very important points.

The forum complaints about matchmaking and such existed in OW1, but for sure it’s much worse now, on top of 5v5 making it so if you have ANY stagger between tank vs team, it’s a nonstop steamroll.

IMO if they went back to 6v6 we could at least work around perceived matchmaking issues somewhat.

5vs5, one tank, faster and more intense game, and more punishing.
Faster queue time “quantity over quality”

The smallest skill gap has become a huge penalty because of all this.
In Overwatch 2016 it was less annoying and more easily compensated.
Now one bad player can turn a match into a unwinnable mess.
With f2p there is a lot of bad players who don’t care.

I think you mean like specific physical skill which I totally agree. But I want to add the mental-situational awareness part of this too, as it’s MUCH easier to force stagger and steamroll a team even with 1 bad player, even if the lone tank is great.

If the tank dies and then 20 sec later team dies, but tank staggers in and doesn’t wait for team to respawn? Team kill.

Same if the support dies but then staggers in just as tank and other support die? Team kill again.

I hope you are right. I do not want it fixed. I just want to play the game. Ain’t nobody got time deez queues.

Ofc they won’t . They are doing it on purpose . Just to see how far can people take this crap of matchmaking and analyze how to drain people more and make fun of them . Fresh example - Playing Competative Mystery Heroes , I am diamond 3 and in my lobby I have 2 people which are silver 4 and silver 1 . TALKING ABOUT BALANCE MAN . No wonder I can’t get pass by Diamond .

Side effects of F2p. Leaving the gate open never works out for these type of games.

OW 1 had problems with matchmaking, no one can deny that, but it was definitely better than what we currently have.

Blizzard’s awful decisions (5v5, F2P, monetization and lack of progression system, and the list goes on) creates problems. Paired with their inability to fix the matchmaking system and well… the result is a disaster.

They can fix it, but it seems they do not want to.

OW1 also took 10 minutes to find a match. Which is why I quit playing it, lol.

I don’t have any screenshots to back this up, but I vividly remember Gold Mercys playing with Diamond dps players in plat matches. The matches within bronze-gold were mostly balanced. It was only when the smurf area started (low plat) that it was all over the place.

If they properly fixed matchmaking their precious Q times would increased tenfold. They are grab whatever players are available and throw them in the system.
