Blizz Devs Are Sabotaging 6v6, Lol

I think him losing it is a big positive.

The whole “Blizzard will sabotage 6v6” thing is a product of grifting Youtubers, following the standard grifter playbook:

  1. Tell people things used to be better in ‘the old days’, highlighting only the positives and none of the negatives
  2. Invent some ‘big bad’ that actively wants to deprive people of ever returning to ‘the old days’. Bonus points for partial truth.
  3. Tell people any attempt to return to ‘the old days’ will be sabotaged or otherwise tainted
  4. Tell people anyone with a dissenting opinion is a paid shill or propogandist
  5. Find a unique product or service to sell that - conveniently - you either happen to own or receive a significant amount of sponsorship money from

The same pattern is used by basically every single political ‘content creator’ and certain prominent figures in the Overwatch community used exactly the same strategy with the whole “6v6 debate”. It appeals to anxious people with persecution complexes.

Reality is, it makes no sense for Blizzard to spend 6 months on preparing for 6v6 experiments for work to mostly go unplayed or for people to spend most of their gametime sitting in queues - they want it be a success. Anyone that doesn’t outsource their thought to Twitch-chat can see that.

Funny thing is, Overwatch 1 did return and they were unhappy with that! And it’ll happen again with this season’s Classic event too!

But they were!

Say what?

That does not make any sense. We just had Overwatch Classic and it was better than anything else they have ever done.

To be fair, a lot of people struggle to share their opinion. It’s not an outlandish claim. I have yet to have anyone refute the position that the 6v6 crowd is fake. Tee hee.

Oh, so you are jealous of Mahvel. I see how it is. That’s actually why I believe Overwatch should stay 5v5. We do not need old Overwatch. Mahvel fills the void.

The irony is palpable.

Absolutely true. If even we can agree on this despite being seemingly opposite beings, I think it is a fair assertion.

Funnily enough, I wasn’t actually thinking of Rivals.

I was thinking of one very specific individual who - for the last 18 months - has been selling virtual currency for a Minecraft server that doesn’t even exist but will surely open any day now. Honestly it’s kind of shocking that this isn’t a bigger controversy yet.

Hilarious that you were able to take that list and think of other examples though - kinda makes my point for me, right?

Oh, I totally agree with your core argument. I just believe that the old times are definitely better.

Admittedly I dont really follow content creators in general, but none of them do what you said there, not even Samito - and I mention him since he’s usually the focal point anytime 6v6 comes up.

You confusing misguided forum threads with streamers?

edit- number 5 I guess is the only one that applies to some degree, but not really relevant to the overall idea here

All all honesty, it took you lot less than 24hours to go on about “results” and “stats”

of what is over 2 weeks of testing needed thing.
This alone just goes to show the average forum user goes 2 games and calls it a result.

You are merely a speck in the overall statistics of things tho.

What OW could have done was added a feedback option after each game, where you select options and maybe add a feedback text note about how you felt.

This could then be additionally sanitized and compiled to read into data better.

Oh no, the Ow1 setup isnt working for most OW2 tanks? How … unexpected.

Yes, I only played three games and promptly returned to Mahvel. I will play another three tomorrow and maybe my opinion will change. You never know. I am only sharing what I can share because it’s not as if I tested this thing for 2 weeks. What do you expect?

once i saw the dps passive was still in i knew their were no devs just ai.

Lmao. Did you think you’d get to play as 5v5 doom while having a 5v5 d.va on your team? Yes, you have the power of a team member not a raid boss nobody wants to deal with.

Because the way he plays now, he plays as the solo tank that has to take all the aggro. The way he plays in 6v6 is by being an off tank and engaging opportunistically.

Same thing. She doesn’t have to frontline brawl all on her own so she doesn’t need ridiculous self sustain.

You know what else happened? Zarya can’t double bubble herself and press wm1 all game. Welcome to playing the game like the rest of us

They didn’t bring back OW1. They just added an extra player per team in OW2. Big difference.

It’s a step in the right direction, but they still have a bunch of awful hero reworks and the game is still just as deathmatchy as it has been for two years.

I would rather them have just told us they weren’t going to do it, rather than lie to us and then butcher their would-be attempt at showing that they listen, lol. I swear this company has got to actually hate their consumers.

I would rather just play Rivals than to play a completely neutered Doomfist. I already took two Ls when they spayed my Symmetra and turned her into a wheelchair. And another when they deleted DPS Doom and made him into a tank, I’m not going to take a third.

Everybody would rather play Rivals than deal with 2 raid bosses. Theres a reason raids have 1 big bad. No you have to play the game like the rest of us, there are two of you.

Are we talking 28.k modems and expensive phone bills? No seat belts or safety features in cars? Couple of world wars? Was it the lack of antibiotics, vaccines, painkillers or anaesthetics that sold you on the olden times? Perhaps the uncolonised American continent? A jolly old inquisition, crusade, pyramids or maybe even caves and huts? Dinosaurs?

You know there’s a middle ground between raid boss and impotent, unfun, punching bag, right? Lol. Tanks in this shape are why we had 15+ minutes queue times in OW1. Because tanks were so unfun to play because all they did was play as a target dummy.

Look at Rivals tanks as an example of fun, engaging tank design. Dr. Strange has more interesting play potential in just his portal than the entire OW tank roster does in this disingenuous troll.

I am honesty surprised.
I tested 6v6 in its current state and I honestly expected a better reaction.

Not a good reaction but at least lukewarm.
Looking at all the comments, you would think that 5v5 is actually better than 6v6.

And objectively speaking, it is not. 6v6 is an improvement compared to 5v5 role queue.
It is no Overwatch Classic but the competitive players should honestly be happy.

It’s weird how nobody actually point out how 6v6 fixes some problems inherent to Overwatch 2, such as new gamemodes which feel a lot better.

As an old school Overwatch player, I’m in an awkward position. While I do think 6v6 is a step in the right direction, the current iteration is obviously not conceived for my kind.

I’m actually curious what the “5v5 forever” folks think about it. Because it’s still an improvement to me.

I’m confused, tanks knew they were going to eat some changes with 6v6 right? now granted I didn’t think they were going to hit em with QoL nerfs in some cases, figured it would just be decent nerfs to damage/hp/armour/cds, but we all knew SOMETHING would have to change for a 2nd tank to get put on each team.

That’s the point… They ruined playstyles, QoL, and overall funness of the tanks, for this. Like, how did Rein go about getting his charge control nerfed, and Fire Strike’s second charge removed, but somehow gained 500 shield HP? Lmao…

NGL, being able to punish tanks feel great. Not so fun being on the punished side but that’s more on me.

It’s been awhile, so learning to go with another tank took some adjustment.
