So… What is the problem then?
He’s isn’t supposed to be an ultbot anymore, right? Isn’t that what the mains wanted? So what if he gets his ult less often?
And he still has to be tactful with it.
Cool story. Really cool.
Don’t forget to write about it in your diary.
The devs went about balancing him wrong. He needs 30 dmg shuriken’s and 125 dmg blade at the cost of 10% more ult cost and blade Cant be damaged boosted by any source.
i mean its what i wanted but i can see why someone would be annoyed.
genji hasnt been truely good since 2016 yet blizz feels the need to nerf+buff him every single time. (this ofc ignoring the short lived moments when they over buff him like morons).
when i played at my peak, mccree was getting all sorts of buffs with almost no nerfs. blizzard has always had a tendency to nerf or buff someone but genji after his original 2016 nerfs has always gotten a combo. they compensate, as if genji is somehow a top tier must have pick.
just goes to show blizzard has no idea what they are doing, they balance based on popularity statistics not how effective someone is at a high level.
It’s not just genji who has a weird and somewhat unbalanced kit. A lot of characters have this problem.
The fact that they tried buffing mccree, a character meta in both ladder and owl, which raised a lot of questions from the player community and from the pro community should tell you enough that they have no idea what they are doing.
I will be honest. I’m afraid ow2 will be terrible simply because of bad balancing.
Genji might become worse. A lot worse.
Yes it did. Genji blade is still extremely easy to get value out of even in it’s nerfed state, previously it was way too strong. A hero shouldn’t be able to become basically invincible with nano and then go slashing through an entire time with very little effort.
Junkrats primary fire doesn’t have one of the most forgiving hitboxes in the game where you can literally look straight down and still get hits with both dash and slash. Junkrats primary fire requires you to aim and predict, blade requires you to press shift and left click and they LITERALLY don’t even need to be on your screen to get a hit.
Annoying as hell hero to play against AND to play with (you literally need to babysit him by going 2nd frontline DPS, normally a hitscan, he needs an Ana and tanks that don’t immediately die so very often a MT also).
To be fair, Reinhardt does this by default, only instead of Swiftstrike, he has Firestrike, and Firestrike hurts a lot more.
No, he does not need this.
Genji was perfectly fine with 28 damage and 120 damage dragonblade. You don’t seem to understand that Genji’s problem is the same problem that a lot of Damage-role heroes (particularly the ones focused on burst) have at present. They can’t do anything with four defense-oriented heroes on the enemy team.
This is flat out false.
Highly unlikely; Genji will likely be a lot stronger when there’s less defense he has to work through, as would many heroes.
This, however, does not account for the possibility of new heroes claiming his niche, or performing better than him.
You’re conflating two ultimates with one. Genji’s Dragonblade has never been a particularly effective ultimate solo. It usually requires teamwork and effort to get some reward out of it. Nanoboost is effective with Dragonblade, not just because of the damage, but also because Nanoboost offers a 50% damage reduction allowing Genji to actually make it work. But you’ll find (like many other players have) there are far better targets than Genji, when it comes to Nanoboosting.
This is a poor argument. Junkrat’s primary is not an ultimate. Genji’s Dragonblade, for the effort it requires, is still substantially harder to get some value out of it on it’s own. While certainly possible to do, comparing a explosive projectile with a melee weapon on a six second duration is foolish.
It was warned repeatedly and even against Blizzard’s own reluctance to do this that it wasn’t going to change anything. It did not change anything, and Genji still struggles for relevance, as predicted.
Lmao, you shouldn’t have to kill both supports ever time you want to use an ult. You should be able to use ultimates against the supports. I slashed an Ana 5 times the other day (I’m not a genji main btw) and brig outhealed everything. Even Tac Visor can’t get healed through like that and Tac Visor can be used from any distance.
