TLDR:
New Gamemode: Haunted Masquerade.
It’s a PvP mode where you can play as a hero (e.g Brigitte) and than don the mask of another allied hero (e.g. Reinhardt). The masks of those heroes gives you unique buffs and abilities.
A unique niche however is that those abilitiers and buffs are more strong and special if you have the mask of a hero that has lore connections to your hero. Like in our example, Brigitte and Reinhardt could interlock their shields just like in the Zero Hour cinematic.
Since there are many different lore interactions they can reference, we can be certain the hero pool will be small. 10 heroes, maybe?
Anyways, Halloween terror PvE Gamemodes.
Basically, we get the PvE gamemodes back. No new heroes added to either mode.
Stadium Updates:
Torbjörn, Hazard and S*journ are to be added.
New Map: Busan Sanctuary.
The armory will also get sub-tabs, filters and a search tool, so certain items can be found eaier.
An ‘Advanced Info panel’ is to be added as well, it will let you see how the gadgets alter your raw numbers.
And you’ll be able to view your numbers without having to call upon the scoreboard, trasparancy and size adjustable.
Gadgets:
Even more new stuff for Stadium. From the gist of it, it reads like those are VERY powerful one-time-use items that can change a teamfight. You can buy them in the armory - for a price.
New Mythics:
Druid Lifeweaver.
Kiriko weapons.
Skins for Cassidy, Wuyang, Moira, Sombra, Reinhardt, Echo, Zenyatta, Torbjörn.
This season is also the first season they offer 2 Mythics in one season - next one will be Cyber Fuel Junkrat.
New way to level up Mythics:
Each tier now gives us a distinct feature to customize. Level 1 givey you the mythic skin itself, and the following levels give you each colours, Sound/Visual Effects, accessories, etc.
The phrasing REALLY wants to insist that it’s all “in our interest”. The language really tried to sell it as a good deal, as if it’s hiding something. They’ve overdone it so much that I think we should be especially cautious about this part. They’re planning to pull a fast one on us, and if that’s the case, this was the worst cover-up I’ve seen. Ever.

Mercy, Freja, Genji, Baptise, Pharah, Sigma.
Spirits/Folklore
Kiriko, Reaper, Ashe, Widowmaker, Roadhog.
A collaboration, One Punch Man, is to return.

There are many of us who really miss OW1 and absolutely love the mode!

Wait, holy moly, already a new season? Only level 6 of the current pass. I wanted to actually finish a pass for once to get that nice Kiri skin at the end. Well that’s a rip.
And by the looks of this another dead season with nothing really going on outside of this stadium (never played that, don’t even know what that really is). Hm.
Oh wow, 2 mythics per season now?! How are people supposed to finance those (with ingame currency I mean)? What in the world?!

Why do they only release mid Reaper skins? He has had like 19 skins since launch and 15 of them are just straight trash. The other 4 are okay at best.
Can we chuck them in the wood chipper in exchange for like 5 good skins?

I’m genuinely sick of seeing so many stadium updates while the regular game mode barely sees balance changes. There better be a heck of a lot more changes coming than the article talks about. Many of the S18 perk changes absolutely sucked, and that needs to be addressed.
Battle pass looks/sounds bad this season, mythic prisms remain too scarce and vastly overpriced for what they provide, and you’re still insisting on locking skins to the Ultimate Battle Pass Bundle (not cool).
I’m looking for ways to make my time spent in Overwatch feel worthwhile…S18 and S19 aren’t doing that job.

We’ve literally had this discussion with them before.
Blizzard knows we want customisable Mythics, TRULY CUSTOMISABLE Mythics and outright acknowledged that that is our idea of Mythics.
Not whatever the Hell Orisa or Hanzo is, and not the upgrade idea behind Tracer.
And now we’re back to Orisa/Hanzo level Mythics with Weaver where it’s one customisable piece and recolors.
