Best time to Q for OQ comp?

Best time to Q for OQ comp?

I never seem to get a match, people tell me the matches are so much quicker to queue for than regular comp, but I’ve yet to have one of these “quicker” match queue times.

That’s because you’re a REAL Masters player with REAL Masters MMR. To find enough players in your region to generate a balanced match for you is probably a struggle for the MM.

Ok thanks, so there is no good time for open queue comp? the only other match I’ve gotten was yesterday which put me with tons of plats and diam

This is my first time playing open queue competitive since 2-2-2 was released as well, would you say it’s worth trying to complete it? or just go to regular competitive?

Yeah… Ranks in Open Queue are boosted by like 500 SR because a very limited number of people still play. So if you were Diamond+ before Role Queue happened, you’re going to have a lot of fun playing those games (sarcasm), because your normal level of players just don’t exist anymore.

I mean… T500 in Open Queue starts in Diamond somewhere so if you want to be T500 I’d say go for it.

As far as best time to queue, I dont exactly have an answer for you. In NA I can jump into queue and wait about 3 - 10 minutes for a queue and my OQ rank is only like 3.2 on this account.

thank you, I’ll just play the QPC instead, not worth it just for some numbers on my profie

If you gonna do your OQ placements, stack with friends, or don’t take it serious. Because if you solo-queue you will be let down.

If the numbers were limited the ranks would be deflated, not boosted.

The only real challenge in this game is solo queue open. Everything else is boosted.

Mathematically this is illogical, but I really don’t feel like arguing with you tonight, reciepts.

In this case, we agree, however, the OP is interested in queuing and enjoying the game.

Because of the inflated SRs, people are in ranks that they shouldn’t be and therefore the level of performance is not on par with what OP is used to and the OP will experience inconsistent match quality which is an issue when the population of performers is so low.

Please explain. And I’m not Receipts but I sure read his book. Rent free.

Which one has the inflated SRs?

Top 1% is top 1%. SR is just a number for retention and engagement. It represents a no-reset winrate, reflecting grind not skill, performance, or match intensity. Top 1% of 100 people who still play is still top 1%. For that, it’s more important to get names on the list in the right order, instead of how far apart they should be in sr number.

And the skillcap in open is way higher than RQ. She should be looking at “combined” RQ to get an idea of the calibre. You have to flex everywhere at any time and do it well. No 1tricking moira in 222 where nothing dies fast.

I see it all the time: streamer plays 3 games of open, loses all of them because they’re washed and completely outclassed (no idea how to carry without 222), calls the mode a meme, tells all friends on social media it’s a meme, and encourages others to meme the mode. As if 222 bronze-gold isn’t like that already. Meanwhile open is most respected mode in korea.

Play during weekends or primetime and play multiple consecutive matches in a row

just did a proper game in open queue… i had diamonds and masters… in regular comp most were plat

I wanna cry and they play like it too

Seriously the Reinhardt we had was 3.5k SR in OQ but in regular comp he was 2.5k…

Play with me I will be happy to be your reinhardt

:+1:

Not in OQ it was horrible :sob:

All these players are plat chat, so they play in metals, where q time is not a problem. Once you hit gm or even masters, just forget about openQ, I’ve bought 6 stack of accounts to be able to play in openQ as much as possible, but all they stuck 3600-3800 SR eventually due q time over 30-60 mins. That’s sad. Now I have 12 more accounts and I derank it as soon as I reach ~3300, and as one stack gets into suspension, I use 2nd one, and vice versa then. That is the only way.

OQ is only a place to gain more CompPoints but I would assume the best time to queue that has the best chance of getting a quick match is during prime time - 7:00–10:00 p.m. US Central Time.

I waited 2 hours at peak time in my region and gave up in the end with open q. Literally no one plays it. I’m surprised the card is still up! Seems like a waste of space to me.

Open queues are near instant in goldland. They are faster than dps wait times in 222 gold. And the game mode doesn’t take bribes to work. It has an exponentially higher skillcap, and gud players play open to get used to faster micro and apm intensive fights with more 1clap sources. It’s agency intensive, something you don’t get with 222 ttk padding where it’s basically a clunky turn based moba waiting on ults for all-in scripts.

If for u “match quality” means “easy gaming” then by all means stay out of open.

Does that surprise you at all with the following facts:

  1. no reset since 2015. people are in ranks they were seeded in years ago with no real placements or resets.
  2. rigged matchmaking towards 50-50 match outcomes every single match.
  3. nonstop influx of alts and cheaters and 0 official word on proper ladder maintenance
  4. collapsed playerbase nearly ded during offhours with no ladder corrections/compensations for said lowpop sparsity conditions.
  5. a corporate culture that backs several patents on rigging, entire ip portfolio made to rig for retention and engagement, and a fratboi, “lolgitgud” workplace that may as well be cancelled due to 3rd world human rights violations, with lawsuits to follow.

SR is not a number any1 gud trusts.

You forgot to list inflated SR due to lack of players.
