I usually only get compliments for healing, but have gotten some for tanking and dps.
Some that come to mind are 3 messages over PS4 saying thank you for the excellent healing. And 2 compliments over mic for my Moira gameplay of fighting off flankers and keeping everyone tip top, even got a 50% damage healed card at the end of that game, I was solo healer and they were warry of solo heals from Moira so it was nice to impress.
Most of my nice tanking compliments were over mic, but I have been called the best dva by someone who became a friend (wasn’t at time of compliment).
And I’ve had teammates compliment my junkrat (pre-buff and post buff) gameplay, anywhere from 1 v 3 ing a low enemy team to just being able to stall enough for the entire team to respawn and make it back. Also cancelling enemy junkrat ults, get a lot of compliments from that.
Small thank yous normally come from taxing healers back and peeling for them, they seem to really appreciate it.

Bruh, I had this guy get really excited I was on his team after I was against him the last ranked. He kept telling the team how amazing I did last game and I literally felt like I had a boyfriend who was just bragging about me to his family. I felt so good.
We almost lost though which would have been really awkward lmao.

on my team i usually don’t get compliments, i just get them when i’m playing healer. when i do a really good play with a dps or when i save my team as a tank.
the thing i felt more as a compliment was when someone on my team was telling me to switch and then someone else defended me telling me not to switch because i was carrying and i was getting really good picks.

“How are you in plat?” A Masters McCree that thought I was a good Mercy.
“CLUTCH TELEPORTER!!!” When I played attack Symmetra one time to deal with a Bastion comp on Junkertown and then used it to let my team take the enemy from behind.
“Its 4am and I really want to go to bed. But I also don’t want to stop playing with this team.” A compliment given to me and everyone else in my team on a night where I went on such a massive win streak that none of us wanted to go to bed until we lost but we just kept winning.

An Ana on my team in comp once added me as a friend to only say I was the worst Orisa they had ever seen and healing me was the worst experience of their life.
They deleted me after that.
Two days later the same person added me after a game because I was apparently the only decent tank they had seen all day 
people are weird.

At the end of match from teammate and enemy’s;
T1: Zenyatta was very good
E1: Your Zenyatta was INSANE! He ALWAYS had trans!
E2: yeah I had to make sure he was 100% dead every time I wanted to use my blade. So annoying haha
E3: and he killed all of us all the time!
Side note: this was an amazing game on Ilios well and I’ve got an MVP card with 89% in the end lol.
Edit: The enemy’s had a zarya and a pharah and genji. I countered them 4/5 times they must have been so mad

Just the other day someone said I was the “best mercy I’ve had in a while”. I then realized it was a Reaper I went out of the way to rez when he died off the point because he was chased down. ;w; It warmed my heart.
Edit: Not exactly a compliment but I’ve had someone INSIST i was aim botting…on Junkrat.
