So I just found that post on r/Overwatch and I thought it could be a very interesting thing to debate here.
Long story short, OP’s enemy team said they had a cheater, both teams agreed to draw so nobody wins/loses SR, and on the end the enemy team still killed them and got the win. They lied about having a cheater for an easy win.
Do you think that it’s a way to win like another ? Do you find it somewhat unfair ?
Just like “tilting” someone is a valid tactic, it’s still not something I’d be proud of doing or feel good about.
EDIT:
Apparently someone already posted about it here too:
If you’re going to go by the “unkind, unreasonable” part… then yeah. It fulfills one of the strict to the letter definitions. But if we’re speaking about say, equal opportunities and resources available, as you would with most contests it’s entirely fair. It’s just a cruddy thing to do.
I think you also may be confusing me with someone else if you think i’d get “mad” that you disagree with me or have something proving me wrong.
It’s absolutely fair. Agreeing to draw is a nice idea on paper (and very generous of those willing), but once you intentionally throw you’re violating the game’s rules.
It sucks when there’s a cheater, but it’s not the responsibility of the players in that match to deal with it. The cheater will be on to their next game anyway and the only thing that will stop them is a report.
It is hard to tell with the story, because they asked their own teammate to verify whereas it is implied they are a stack. Equal oppurtunity seems a bit of a stretch, this is surely a super niche situation. Idk, it is such a weird gamble to begin with. Like, I cannot even imagine the conversation they had to formulate this plan. Rofl. Funky as hell.
I wouldn’t be surprised if a team willing to trick the opposite team into the loss actually has a smurf or a cheater on their team. So in that aspect maybe it was unfair? Like the teams skill levels were actually unbalanced. That might have been the tipping point of the guys teammates saying the suspected cheater looked “sus”.
But the part that’s in question i think is whether even trying this is “fair”. Which I’d say it is. But again it’s a very low road to take.
