I will admit I tend to focus more DPSing when I played Mercy in Valk-play more like Luminum if anything- just because I liked to harass the back line healers, but I’m lucky and I have another few support mains I play with so I can fly off and use my GA to get back to my team.
However if I’m the only healer I will play more like how Neptuno plays.
- Mercy gains ult faster by shooting than by healing or boosting.
- Mercy doesn’t boost for nearly as much damage as she does just shooting.
- With the exception of Brig, Mercy doesn’t heal for as much as any of the other healers, they can all get better heals per second. And even Brig can out heal her if the group sticks together.
- Mercy is mobile but she is arguably less mobile (outside of ult) than either Moira or Lucio because they aren’t forced to tether to other players to gain their mobility.
- Mercy, like Moira, has an ult that increases her dps.
Maybe, like all the other healers, Mercy should be allowed to heal and do damage simultaneously.

DPS Moira isn’t dealing that damage by her M2 but throwing damage orbs. That’s literally the same thing as battlemercy yet nobody would ever report it.
Then they come to the forums and make threads about Mercy not being a main healer. :wutface:

Posting this proudly while aknowledging you’re throwing/breaking the rules… interesting? There’s nothing cool about this. It’s just as ‘‘cool’’ as a DPS Moira is, or a heal-only Soldier would be… just another thrower among many throwers.
Pistol here and there, sure, but majorly focusing on that? No.
As much as I miss Mass Rez, I could get behind this. Till then, when opportunities arise, I am gonna support my team with healing, damage boosting, and shooting enemies.

I’ve seen so many people say that we shouldn’t whine about Valkyrie because “the pistol is great, I can get a pick!” so anyone who only uses the ult for gunning is using the ult to its maximum potential.
Why they ever, from the very start, gave her unlimited ammo (and on ptr increased damage) I will never understand, and shows just how clueless they can be with both their own characters and their playerbase.

Nope, this is what devs did knowingly.
Healing was reduced by 17% which affected how fast the out charged. Instead of reverting the healing they just made it charge quicker. But as they didn’t reduce the pistol damage along with reducing heals the outcome of charging it 15% quicker is that pistol gets ult faster than staff.

I think battle Mercy is about “small windows” to DPS example:
You heal 99% of the time but when your team outnumber the enemy team you can shot.
During Valk you should focus on DPS strickly but timing that at same time of your team-members. Like Graviton + Valk or EMP + VAlk or Nano+Valk.
Sadly Mercy is not as good as zeny or moira for DPS-HEAL

Yes, Mercy does have a pistol. She is free to do damage, from when she needs to protect herself to even attacking an enemy mid battle.
But if you choose her and you strictly do battle and let your team suffer because you have decided basically “f u all I’m going to use a HEALER instead of an actual damage dealer and taking away two slots with one inoptimal pick” then yes, it is throwing.
That’s basically like saying “Im using Meis wall, how is locking you in spawn throwing? Its part of her kit!”
Plus, the OP has below a 50% winrate. It shows that it’s not working and is throwing.

When the focus is in that part of the kit and ignores everything else is gameplay sabotage. Like a Rein only using atacks and ignoring his own shield, or Moira flanking and not healing, or basically any other character really.
You guys can do the mental gimnastics you want, but it’s quite different to use the pistol in valk to kill the widow or finish an enemy, and using the pistol all game and not healing. If the OP ends up getting banned, is with a good reason, you want to DPS all game, you pick a DPS, not Mercy.

first of all its fine to bring out your pistol as Mercy as long as every member on your team is at full health. It’s not okay to pick a main healer, especially the one who is supposed to be the primary healer, like, thats her whole gig and then do nothing but damage with her.
Also
and yet in this very highlight you’ve provided, instead of resurrecting the Reinhardt or Ana (who died because you weren’t doing your job as a healer), you clearly start heading towards the enemy spawn in search of more kills.

Mercy was encouraged to use her pistol for Valk, and i battle mercy all the time and im 3421 SR in comp,
If they heal thats good but they dont need to heal 24/7 so battle mercy on!

“Admits to throwing and not playing role”. Please note that if you get play of the game as mercy, and in that POTG you only use pistol, there is a big problem.
