If you remove lamp, I want his grenade to deal damage like Zaryas particle cannon
It should have been an ult just like how rez should have stayed an ult.
Immortality Field isn’t that fun of an ability anyway. It’s a pretty boring ability that’s only there to sometimes save your teammates. So I wouldn’t want it to turn into an ultimate either. I’d rather have him keep his amplification matrix instead even if it means he’s going to lose his IF. The enjoyment of the hero should also go into consideration when it comes to balancing their abilities.
At least IF can be easily destroyed. Nade can’t and has so few cleanses in comparison. I’d much rather they sort out the bloated mess that nade is than do anything with IF. IF is also at least a little useful as a counter to ult stacking which is a real pain in OW, especially around Zarya’s ult and that should have some counterplay.
Replace it with an ability with half the cooldown and I’d be okay with that. Cooldowns that are too long are dull to me; I think 12s should really be the ceiling.
Although I’m gonna go ahead and vote no to the idea of an anti-heal, I don’t want to have tanks waging war against Bap.
If one shots (that are on primary fires and abilities with lower cooldowns) are allowed to exist in the game then something being used to stop them should also exist.
Besides Baptiste isn’t doing too well in Overwatch 2 at all. His legit one of the worst supports at the moment.
I think the concept is cute but like with many things in the game they it was not implemented well enough and was never fixed enough…
In theory it’s a cool concept to have a “one free out of jail card” for your team members when needed against very special abilities- something you use once and then it’s gone.
The problem is, a lot of times it stays longer than it should and isn’t as easy to destroy…
If I were to balance it, I would have just made it more situational for combos and bursty abilities such as D.va’s nuke or Tracer’s pulse bomb.
- Increase the projector size, it supposed to be easily damaged even from range. It would also make sense it would be as big as its field.
- Nerf its hp. Why 150? 150 means 2-3 attacks by heroes like Cassidy or Mei. The point of the ability is to cancel big, important attacks- Not everything. 100 hp should be enough.
- Only if it becomes too weak after these changes, decrease the cool down. Idk how much as it depends on the power level of the ability after the changes.
No. It takes 00.8 seconds to shoot a weak frizbee. If it’s inaccessible, it only last 5 seconds, and when gone only leaves 20% health (easy to one-shot).
You guys really need to stop acting like its a brig 1.0 ult on cooldown, and counterplay.
No.
A supports job is to heal, dps, provide buffs, provide debuffs and counter problems.
No one likes being countered and yet every support provides a counter to a specific problem. It’s part of their job.
We don’t get to counter specific heroes very well but we do get to counter specific mechanics a little.
Baptiste is already so clunky and boring to play. I see nerfs here to his identity but no buffs or reworks to make him playable after.
I think anti-heal is the dumbest thing ever added into OW to be honest. At least you can shoot lamp more often than not. With anti you need a self cleanse, and not everyone has one of those.
Recall. In my opinion is the dumbest ability in the game.
Someone has never been hooked by roadhog.
Please tell me how you achieved this amazing feat!
But seriously. Being hooked across 4 continents into the entire enemy team and then instantly deleted is the most pathetic thing in overwatch. Not a massive floating easily shootable drone.
Immortality is necessary to counter Anti-nade.
Just… destroy it? it only has like, 200 hp?
As for it “countering ults”, why don’t you try using your Pulse Bomb or whatever once you know the Bap doesn’t have lamp?
Idk, ask your other dps or tanks to bait out his lamp or something, or do it yourself, force him to use it, once he don’t got it, he don’t got it, he won’t magically get another lamp you know?
Ok so I agree on lots of things support players have posted and I agree that Bap isn’t amazing in Overwatch 2……but what I’m talking about is the concept of ultimate on cool down. Also a really unsatisfying playing experience from Baptiste players.
-
I think a nade is just so much harder to land than the field. Maybe nade duration for anti heal should be reduced?
-
Putting down the field is just what Bap ends up doing. He needs something that could be fight changing but doesn’t feel cheap to use and cheap to have done to you.
-
The disc could have 1hp for all I care, it’s the fact that you just have to press one button and you avoid instadeath……for multiple people. Now imagine you have spent 1minute, doing dmg to build up your ult to have it negated with a 20 second cool down ability……feels terrible
4.Baptiste has to aim his heals and dmg. He needs a cool down that is fun + uses this ability, maybe gives damage buff like nano? Has to be aimed and could be used to stop one target being killed like nano is used to save people.
I just want the abilities to not feel cheap + fun to use. Immortality feels cheap to use (hey Tracer gj on the stick but not today!) and you feel cheated you placed your ultimate in an incredible spot…totally outplayed your enemy and it is completely shutdown because bap clicks E.
Also for what it is worth loads of abilities are broken in Overwatch. I feel the kit design for characters has got bloated and with less abilities then game becomes easier to balance.
immortality in it’s current state would be a terrible ultimate ability.
Nade is easy to land with it’s large AOE range.
Unironically remove IF and make it new a support hero’s ultimate in the future. No one but bad players or smurfs would care.
It pretty much only existed as a cooldown to counter Ana’s antinade because the devs were too stubborn to rework her.
As long as there is chance to have bad players on your team, this ability is great.
Oh please.
If Immortality Field became an Ult, you’d still complain, let’s be real.
With what they already did to it, twice even, it’s really not an issue at all. And you know good and well that most that use it aren’t even hiding it that well and when it’s right there in the open, you aren’t shooting it like you should.
All this is going to do is help to make supports worse, where everyone should have some element of strength and satisfaction to them. I think they have done more than enough to make IF worse already.
