Dev Comment: Slightly-Less-Mortality Field just doesn’t have the same ring to it, but we can experiment. Maybe the device should be immortal so we can get by on a technicality.

It’s just “Slightly Less Mortality”, which tbh is a completely different ability than the original immortality field. They’re probably just doing it like this so those people who scream “OMG BAP OP IMMORTALITLY FEELD OP NEED TO BE REMOVED” can be happy. Pure memes.
