What is considered “innocent”? How do we define the boundary for jokes and comments in a way that can be applied universally, without sensitive individuals mass-reporting? In the current system, any remark, no matter how harmless or good-natured, can be taken the wrong way by someone. This isn’t about knowing the exact reasons for each report, but about the broader issue that the system is being misused. If we apply this kind of report system to real life, it would be like making a bad joke and immediately facing a vote on whether you deserve extreme punishment. The current reporting system lacks nuance and context, leading to unjust penalties and a stifling of genuine, harmless interactions. Blizzard needs to find a balance that protects players without allowing the system to be weaponized against well-meaning comments.
It would be easy for Blizz to just scan player reports and look for the bulk of the same reporters and autoban them instead
You think that’s the world you live i, but you are so very wrong
I don’t know how the dumb as a doorknob example turned into calling someone at a business that, i’m talking about anyone. And I realized that people are crazy and don’t like any form of insult so yeah I think someone would call the cops for getting called that. It would be funny to imagine what the 911 operator would think of getting a call about that.
So the flip what? If you that weak, maybe don’t play a game where you shoot other people with guns.
Wow, you aptly named yourself.
My man… truth bombs dropped
Yes, but at the same time I feel like it’d be easy to make this terrible, too.
I report people (not frequently) who are genuinely toxic. I don’t report people having in-game banter unless they go toward the offensive/rude scale. (IE: throwing slurs or calling you names- keep it friendly). I also don’t report for swearing because… the characters in the game swear. So, therefore, it’s allowed until those voice lines are removed. (:
This game is full of toxic people, and if they make it so that people who report a certain amount of times get flagged-- especially if there are MANY people in one game acting terribly… eugh. I can see that being just as bad.

Talking a lot in chat isn’t technically spam.
What is it technically then, Mr. Internet Contrarian?
Chatting. Like you do in the text chat.
Also, not a mister.
I can’t comment on whether those bans were ‘deserved’, I don’t have access to your chatlogs (not that I’d want that, those are between you and blizz.)
However, if you are getting penalty after penalty, then it could be an indicator that something is amiss. That’s not for us to tell you what that thing is, that’s between you, blizz, and your chatlogs.
Having said all that, the system needs to give a clearer indicator of what players have been banned for, and for the appeals process to not feel like you’re being auto-chat moderated until you ‘annoy’ them enough to get a human response. It should be a ‘one ticket and done’ kind of deal.
Far from making more work for CS staff, surely it would make things better? Because then they don’t have to waste time on someone sending in their sixth ticket trying to get a hold of their own chat logs.

So the flip what? If you that weak, maybe don’t play a game where you shoot other people with guns.
Lil bro is calling people weak, has a persecution complex when someone calls him a loser on the forums. Lol.
This game should be called Overwoke because it’s more concerned with people’s feewings and pronouns than it is actual game play. It has been dumbed down to bowling with bumpers, sprinkled with kindergarten levels of social interaction. “I’m telling on you!!!” has become the new norm here. Marvel Rivals coming out soon. Just hold out.
Even the Average Joe!
Whos Joe?
“Joe Mama”
account closure
I’ve noticed that popular streamers use alias’s when playing ow. i wonder if that’s so no one realizes who they are and flags them?

That’s just streamer mode
That’s because this game is Overwoke now. It’s not Overwatch anymore. You’re in a kindergarten clown world where anything and everything you say is offensive to someone.
Little bro thinks a disney owned ip isnt going to be soft. Lmfao.
Yeah. Marvel is owned by disney.
Ph damn … Disney … smh. I genuinely didn’t know.
