The amount of trolls is overly exaggerated. Game queues would be much longer which would ultimately kill the purpose of playing Overwatch in the first place. Report the throwers and dodge queue until they get into a game. Trust me, reporting actually works in a place like Overwatch. I think you’re missing the point here, if we had unlimited avoid slots, not everyone would avoid 1 or 2 throwers, they’d avoid most of their teammates after a loss which can be problematic in so many ways. If everyone in that match avoided each other, then it’d have to find 6-12 different matches for each one unnecessarily instead of about 2-4 matches. X can’t play with Y because Y avoided X, so the solution for Y is to be on the enemy team, however, someone on the enemy team already avoided Y. Y turns out to be a normal player. If we had unlimited avoid slots, there would be much more problems than we currently have right now. Innocent players can also get longer queue times, it’s not just the throwers who troll. I see what you mean but a lot of the players would have to suffer even more just to “not get throwers”. Tbh, throwers aren’t as big of a problem as people make it out to be, meaning that the suffering to avoid the throwers would be unnecessary and excessive which isn’t worth it. 50 people is still a lot of people, it can still be considered abuse. You can avoid up to 4 matches filled of players and more.
each match has 12 players.
If players had ONE avoid slot that would mean that a maximum of 12 other people could not join this match.
If players had 2 avoid slots then a maximum of 24 other people could not join the match.
If players had 10 avoid slots that would mean 120 people would not be able to join the match.
Matchmaker tries to queue you with players of similar ping. There is not an infinite amount of players. Also for the larger part of the day the concurrent GLOBAL playerbase probably doesn’t exceed some tens of thousands players.
See the problem OP?
Good, so in retrospect do you think this post was a good idea and how do plan to avoid making stuff like this in the future?
Yeah, ok.
Losing 450 SR is completely fine, at least I’m getting to play the game right?
Id much rather wait 1 hr for one game than losing SR because of throwers
Like jeff said, use the Looking for Group feature. It won’t take an hour, it will take on average 2-3 minutes more than your regular queue. But you don’t do that, do you.
USE LFG 4Head
Like, who even uses that anymore? In my region I can never find one open group even at peak times and no one joins if I make one of my own
I doubt you’ll ever lose 450 SR in such a short amount of time, that seems incredibly unrealistic, especially as you put all the blame on all the “throwers” that apparently have no lives and throw 24/7.
Or make some friends.
Big twitch arguments. I apologise for mistaking you for an adult.
I actually lost around 400-450 SR last week.
Well, not every match had a thrower but just smurfs against me, the majority of the matches was someone either hard throwing (dpsing as healer intentionally, sitting at spawn, feeding, etc…) and others were soft throwers ( 1v6ing and kept dying, emoting at stupid times, constantly blocking me off spawn, nano boosting me when I’m nowhere near the fight etc…)
For a long time it looked like we weren’t going o get any avoid back at all.
I’m pretty happy the devs appeared to listen, re-introducing a more viable version and don’t mind the 3 slot shuffle too much.
That may just be your own fault, carry yourself out with a dps and rely on yourself.
Healers who dps aren’t intentionally throwing, they’re impatient. People can feed because of their poor gameplay, not necessarily throwing.
1v6ing can be common, especially in the rank you’re in, so it’s not considered throwing. The meaning of throwing is to intentionally throw, if someone’s in your rank for their poor gameplay then they’re not throwing, they can just make poor decisions.
People can accidentally emote when they mix up their controls and don’t know what to press, especially for newer players.
That may be accidental or maybe they wanted to switch to another healer so they pressed Q and then instantly pressed H.
What do you even mean??
I carry myself every season. Started off from bronze, then silver, then gold, I reached low plat and then I get a sh** ton of throwers almost every match.
Like seriously, this game isnt even about which team is better, it’s more about which team does not have a thrower. [quote=“ÐÙČĶ-2429, post:51, topic:295469”]
That may be accidental

Ice demon is a good hero, encourages throwing because ice wall doesn’t function like a barrier, but more like an actual wall which means, if you get wall blocked at spawn you won’t get to play the game for a specific amount of time, and because you won’t get to play you can’t:
You’re mistaken, it was actually a problem that people who played off meta heroes or even who were too good didn’t have anyone to play with. Unlimited avoids is stupid, period. It’s been explained why over and over. having a maximum that is different based on your region and rank makes sense though.
If you avoid everyone, it’s you who’s not getting into a game, not them.
But okay, don’t make it unlimited. Make it 10. That’s a good start as well.
If queue times skyrocket then it still can be reverted.
I wish there was a “don’t group me with the same ppl for the next match” button.
That’s actually not a bad idea.
I’d avoid every single player I queue with. Then I can get 4 month queues, and I can finally be productive.
Well. Since they’re clearly gonna take at the very least another YEAR to add a role que to this game, which was asked A VERY LONG TIME AGO, they might as well give us unlimited avoid slots to make sure onetricks and non swapping and bad teammates are all avoided. Let me worry about my longer que times.
Can totally see it … they add 30 slots, listening to the community.
Next 2 days after the change
“Blizzard fix your MMR, comp queues 10mins FFS”
Can you not take things out of context and actually reply properly?
