I live in Perth, Western Australia. Every single game I play I’m matched into an SEA server. This game has a huge communication element to it but for the most part SEA people don’t communicate much, or if all, compared to Australians.
How is it fair to place me into a game where there is a language barrier.
I try really hard to not get angry and tilt but it’s just difficult when I can barely communicate with my team.
Please… Can you give us a region picker? Or something similar.
I understand that Overwatch just try’s to find you the best possible connection, but i’d rather have an extra 5-10ms and be able to communicate properly than have great ping and a sloppy game.
This is my first time posting on the forums just to have my voice herd. This isn’t just me, but a bunch of my friends who also live in Perth.
It makes us feel like we’re given a handicap from Blizz.
I live in Melbourne and I have the same issue.
Being told by Blizzard support to come here. Experiencing the same issues, have been for 12 + months.
I can pick a completely different region, but not node within my closest region? I’d prefer to talk to people with the same language, as you know, its a team based game. You know the whole, “better player experience and all” which gets talked about by Devs during updates.
I had this issue for almost the entirety of 2017 and it went away for this year after an event patch ages ago, but the issue is back and I’m back to complain again.
Bump because my boyfriend lives in Perth, AU and I’m from the Philippines. I don’t mind the lag I get connecting to AU servers, but I just want to be able to play with my bf without him suffering too much lag from connecting to SEA server.
Closing this thread as its from 2018.
@MadamObs
With y’all playing in different areas, there aren’t going to be a whole lot of options for getting placed on the AU servers specifically. The only workaround may be for you to use a VPN to make it appear as if you’re connecting from a location closer to the AU servers. Its not something we directly support so we won’t be able to help set one up, but its something to try if you’re willing to do the research into it.
