It used to say “welcome to (map name) prepare to attack/prepare your defenses/prepare for battle”. I haven’t heard the full announcement in years, maybe not at all in OW2. I will sometimes get just the map name, or sometimes just “prepare to attack”, but it’s frustrating when I’m afk and hear the queue pop, and with no announcement I don’t know how much time I have before I have to sit back down.
Is Athena ever coming back to announce maps consistently?
