Ashe is a Minority hero

They never confirmed this. She’s just a lazy Widowmaker recolor and that’s it.

In a lot of shots
But the fact she looks tan in some indicates she tanned in the sun or something, and guess what, impossible for people with Albinism
Combined with the above fact and it’s clear it wasn’t actually intended to show real albinims, which is fine Ashe dosen’t need minority points to be a solid character.

Man, the hate is so real right now.

She has a really cool kit (that should have gone to a fixed McCree) but you have to admit, Blizz found One Way Of Modeling Women and they sure have NOT strayed from that AT ALL.

Red eyes are extremely rare, most people with red eyes have albinism. It doesn’t mean that this is necessarily always the case. Some people with Albinism have violet eyes or blue eyes (Or any color). Albinism doesn’t always effect eye color, but it can be a symptom.

It wouldn’t make sense for an albino to be a cowgirl. First of all the sun would burn her skin. Secondly, albinos usually have poor vision and can’t handle light in their eyes. Why would she be a sniper if that was the case?

They live in the age where omincs and tweaking genetics exists. Her parents are rich, they have access to this advance technology.

That’s just her cinematic model. Her in game model is actually quite different. She actually looks older in game.

I thought about it but her eyebrows are black (could be dyed, but I’ve never seen anyone do it, and it’d be weird to not dye her hair at the same time). It’s interesting though, considering her eyes.

She’s just fair skinned and has Devil eyes. What’s the big deal? I think she looks good.

Her skin is too brown to be an albino, and she has dark eyebrows.

Its ok to be white you rassicts

Not talking about her age, or lack thereof. I’m taking about how if you overlay her face with any of the other female characters in the cast, she has the exact same oval face shape, rounded jaw, small chin, button nose, wide, overlarge eyes, cupid’s bow lips, high cheekbones. She’s also size zero - but at least her back isn’t entirely broken.

There’s no variation. She’s someone’s Middle School OC but in a AAA game.

Well theres also BOB who can also give her shade because of his height.

Id like to imagine him holding an umbrella over her whereever she goes. He is her butler after all

Not an albino, too many markers signifying she isn’t.
Shes just a white girl with red eyes. Rare trait, not specific to people with Albinism.

I wondered this when I saw the red eyes. Would be cool.

I don’t think people meant it to be offensive. Just that red eyes are like … majorly only associated with people with albinism. That doesn’t mean every albino person has red eyes, just that … most (if not all?) people with red eyes are albino.

Well, one of my best friends from elementary school had albinism. (She had blue eyes, btw, not red. XP) And she did have vision problems and have to wear sunglasses outside due to being sensitive to light, but … well, this is the year 2070+. I’m sure some medical advancements have been made to fix these issues by now. :stuck_out_tongue:

There’s also the hat, and most of her skin is covered in clothing, so there’s that.

I’d wager Blizz just used the hair and eye color to appease the anime / Final Fantasy fans, but it’s still an interesting theory.

To be fair, Reaper, Soldier 76 and McCree all have the same body shape except that they stand differently because they use different weapons.

The faces are actually fairly different if you don’t count cinematics since that studio reuses assets.

Not only is it not that common an eye colour for albino’s it’s actually pretty rare, the most common eye colour for people with albinism is pale blue, and red eyes wouldn’tj ust be red irisis it’s the whole of the eye (because the eye is clear and the “ed” is actually the blood vessels behind the eyes)

Same facial features for the women regardless.

Blizz only understands western beauty standards that I outlined above, and women who don’t look a day past 25, and that’s it.

And if they’re going to magically fix the problem with future tech then what is the point of making someone have that minor disability in the first place
You might as well say McCree represents amputee’s by that logic.

Thus actually wasting time explaining to people about albinism to say that Ashe has it would be a waste of precious time as it’s not a helpful detail to the story
Either make i an actual trait that has plot isignificance or don’t bother.
