Only bad players don’t like Baptiste.
I got asked to switch off Baptiste by the worst Orisa I ever saw.
at 5:25 mark he asks “can we not have a Baptiste?”
I look at my healing I am at 7700 healing with gold.
The other healer is Moira who is not dpsing only, she is healing.
So exactly who did you want me to play where I could outheal that?
I’m climbing as Baptiste. He is my favorite main healer. In most of my matches, I outheal Anas, Mercies and even Moiras.
The secret with him is timing. Timing is crucial, especially the timing of the Immortality field. But it is an instinctive, intuitive thing. You just know when you have to use it.
Getting value out of his ult is not easy though. It comes with practice.
(Btw, nobody has ever asked me to switch off Bap. I thought he was liked by most people).

I’d rather have him than a Mercy. Or any healer to be honest over a Mercy, even Brigitte in the state she is in.

It depends on the comp, most healers cant work in every comp type so you have to look at your teammates picks and pick according to that
The healer combo I hate seeing, especially as a tank is Zen-Lucio, not even worth tanking here.
What’s “off damage”?
Symmetra can do Junkrat/Pharah levels of Damage it’s actually crazy. Idk why people think she’s not a “real DPS”

It honestly all depends on their comp.
But if you had a lucio that’s a ton of brawl for your team with an immortality field to top it off.
You were either hard countered or your tanks were too shy on the W

No one really has asked me to switch either, I’ve usually had good results with my baptiste play but just wanted a overall view point amongst the people in the forums of his reputation as a main healer in the new meta. I’m glad it’s majority very positive.

Inconsistent and highly conditional damage.
Mei pairs better with a “raw damage” source, like Reaper, Hanzo or Soldier.

We’re in a Mei/Reaper meta, and you’re acting like it’s not a good combo?
Reaper and Mei is a good combo.
But both of them are conditional damage dealers and not consistent. And it works really well.
So it completely goes against your point.

Yeah the thing is, the Off healer is chosen by the utility that he/she provides.
If you are playing against a slow comp, probably Lucio would be better. If the comp has a lot of flankers and they dont have much shields … you can use discord to accel the TTK.
If you are Bap and there is an Ana/Mercy/Moira there, your job is not pump heals like crazy but save deaths with the drone or finish off picks with your main weapon. If that doesnt happen, you can get flamed.
I wouldn’t feel bad. I played Mercy and some guy playing Hog accused me of not playing my role and suggested I don’t play Mercy after we lost. I told him I played my role, and reviewing the replay confirmed it. I rezed him twice and healed his fat butt all through out and provided some amp. Did about 10K worth of healing. After reviewing his play I noticed he had a few key misses with his hook. He should follow his own advice and play another tank if one at all.

Been gold to diamond support main from season 11 onward I can indeed confirm that this 100% true. Plus the entitlement other players have towards supports, as though they have every right to demand the hero you play to heal them but god forbid you request they switch to something more effective; or pre role que they play a shield tank…
