Are two month-long seasons too short?

Does anyone else miss the time when seasons lasted for three months?

Nope! I enjoy getting my rewards faster.

I don’t even see the point in having competitive seasons anymore.

We rarely get balance changes, we don’t have any downtime in-between seasons, there’s no events, maps, characters, content, etc. to even need to adjust to in the interim.

There is nothing that separates seasons.

Seasons are merely there to give the illusion of a fresh start. As we all know, placements mean nothing and there’s zero changes in between seasons. If anything we should have longer seasons with a large balance patch between them and do away with comp points.

I don’t particularly care about the length of the seasons, but I kind of miss the off-season in between. I don’t know if I’m alone in that.

Yes. I get nostalgia for when people would have like 100 hrs played in 1 comp season. I miss when it was normal to be grinding this game… You’d check leaderboards and most people had 1000+ games that season. Now its like, eww you have 100 games !! You’ve been sweating it out eww. 2 months is too short, they all blend together… when I say s23, you’re like?? what was that season about again? No one remembers. Even though it was just over a year ago. But EVERYONE remembers season 3

Nah I honestly wouldn’t complain if they were shorter (I only play for gold gun points).

They should be 1 month and have proper rank reset.

cool ive always wondered how long a season lasted. i actually thought it was 3 months since like 4 seasons irl. so its 6 seasons a year now i guess.

i wonder if they would ever think of resetting sr/mmr every year. or is that a problem? also are they going to reset sr/mmr for ow2?

It just feels that way from how slow everything is with overwatch rn.

yea i know how that feels. since we got this supposed content creator leak it feels like forever waiting for the news to reach us… if it ever does

But with all this talk of overwatch 2 news later this month and this comp season ending this month, I have hope it correlates (could also be the copium I’m on).

On that I don’t agree at all. I think that eliminating any kind of down time from the ladder was one of the best changes associated with it. I think that if one needs a break, one can always take it, but for a competitive player who wants ranked completion, being forced to sit out and not play because it’s simply unavailable is pretty silly.

I wish they were shorter. I always get motivated with a goal, but a month later I do not care anymore. It is happening RIGHT now. I want to hard one trick Zen, but I already did all my other placements besides open queue which is over halfway done.
