Are The Majority of Your Lobbies Even?

Talking with a few people a couple days ago and i got the feeling that we werent on the same page about a few things, namely they assumed that i routinely got put in with teammates of a similar skill level to me.

The ratio of me getting players of similar or higher skill level than me is 4 out of 50 games, 8 out of 50 on a good day. Probably something to do with being a good player in metal ranks which the MM doesnt know what to do with.

QP would obviously insinuate that, Comp obviously has better MM.

Hard to say but I feel like the majority of my QP games are with players that (more or less) come from the same elo than me.

The only times I feel like it’s one-sided in my favor or in my disadvantage is whenever I play late (according to my country’s timeline) or when I sometimes play in the afternoon.

When it comes to Comp, hard to say ā€˜cause it’s been a long time since I last played but the fact that it’s impossible to check your teammates or enemies’ rank during a match, is pretty concerning.

The lack of transparency is to hide rank discrepancy for sure but I have no doubt QP is worst (unless you’re in a rank where there are less active players - whether it’s the lowest or highest ranks)

My placement matches were a mess, leavers, people throwing intentionally, people who clearly didnt know how to play at all. it was a mess. dropped down from high plat to gold, but now that im placed its a bit better.

Had a streamer who was grifting his viewers with his mic open, plus he was bad, so that was fun.

ahh yeah that doesnt help things on top of the things that go wrong in a normal match.

ive been getting a lot of streamers on tik tok lately, ive actually enjoyed some of their stuff as there are good players surprisingly.

this one was trying to get teens to enter a crypto sweepstakes or something super sleazy

It’ll often take give me bad players, but the other team has bad players with someone who matches me. When I’m in a 5 stack with teammates below my skill level, the game seems hard to them, but it’s kind of balanced. The same happens when I queue with more skilled players, but I’m just keeping up like my low elo friends. It seems to be working until it’s at odd hours.

they arent and i completely blame the trash dev team, trash balance team and trash as heck direector honestly everyone in the dev, balance teams needs to be fired along with the director they continue to cater to stinking content creator trolls

The game will never even be ā€œevenā€ because it’s a carrot/stick game. They make certain heroes work (meta) and then change them up every patch, rather than trying for balance.

Same reason why people don’t play fighting games. You have a roster of 20, but 4 actually usable in play.

If people learned how the game worked, they would apparently get ā€œboredā€ and if they get ā€œboredā€ you can’t sell them new skins and poses every 2 weeks for $10 each.

that used to happen for me as the highest skilled in the lobby but i feel like somewhere around season 5 or 6 where counterswapping was the most intense through to the hog rework in season 7(im a hog main), another player of my skill level on the enemy team stopped showing up.

i think counterswapping at say a gold 3 level and not counterswapping at a plat 1 level shouldnt mean that both players reach plat 1 rank.

hmm i dont really feel like i see higher skill players than me anymore, i think the games just to popular now as well as suboptimal play times outside of 5pm to 11pm being even less populated somehow.

i think its also a problem with going free to play and all the masses it brings.

SO yes and no, it kind of depends if the team jives with the given playstyles. And can potentially bump heads between aggro or defensive plays.

Somehow the trash teammates from last game become OWL players as soon as they join the other team

This garbage game seriously needs to be 6 vs 6 again if you’re gonna constantly force all role challenge players into tank EVERY SINGLE GAME.

NO HEALING
NO DPS THAT CAN ACTUALLY KILL ANYTHING

I wonder what the x factor that stayed the same is in that scenario…

Lol no I hard carried our team just to watch the trio suddenly grow a brain

very rarely i think. i mean personally i can always tell the outcome of the match after the first team fight most of the time and yea its usually right heh

i feel like maybe i used to see this a few seasons ago but not sure anymore.

i actually mostly get dps when i queue all roles, this mostly happens early in the morning when i cant find games on 2 different servers.

maybe the mm had someone queued but they left early?

thats been really working against me recently as players dont know what to swap to, to counter the enemy until they died.

this reasoning goes out the window when a dps locks widow though, suddenly i was right again.

Absolutely not. The vast majority are us stomping the enemy team, or the enemy team stomping us.
The matches that aren’t complete and utter stomps are still onesided, with one team clearly being better and it being obvious what the end result of the match is.

I never get surprised at how a match turns out any more, I can guess with maybe 92% accuracy.

I have no idea. I feel as if my teammates are useless; however, maybe I am also useless. I cannot seem to win against literal trash cans, so perhaps there is a method to the madness?

I havent played much Quickplay but my answer for comp is hell no.

90% roll or get rolled with the occasional ā€œone fight decides the gameā€ matches

I’d say two thirds of QP games are an uphill battle for one of the teams. One third is, like, decided by willingness to win and be sweaty with some decent players on both teams.
