Are sombra players useful?

i find they rarely get picks, even on widows. That, or they focus on the tank instead of the widow anyways.

On occasions they do try to flank deep, they end up dying and now we’re Actually down a player

The average Sombra player is pretty bad, they cant counter a specific hero and resort to abusing hack/virus.

To be fair, is it the Sombra being useful or the player?

They certainly have their uses. Sombra players make great distractions! They also, um, you know. Other useful things…

No less useful than this post

Love the constant Shrodinger’s Sombra by the community, where blue Sombra is inept and does nothing, while red Sombra is an OP unskilled menace capable of insta killing any non-tank hero.

It’s been like 8 years, c’mon guys it’s getting stale.

Well achstually, Sombra instantly kills me on tank too! Unreactable damage…

No doubt! God knows a single second silence completely ruins any tank. Talk about OP and unfair!!!*

*…or completely useless depending on which team they’re on.

I literally get this in-game. Get flamed by my team in team chat, while being praised or cursed out by the enemy team in match chat.

ive trolled a team with sombra before i may of not gotten play of the game but i got some salty as heck opponents as they wasnt really able to counter my team after i switched from tracer to sombra

It can be both. Sombra is lethal enough in the right situation, and permanent invisibility means she can sit there and watch for that opportunity indefinitely.

Of course Sombra isn’t helping her team at all if most of what she’s doing is just hiding and waiting… but it’s also frustrating for the enemy team to have to keep tabs on this little invisible creep who, apparently, has nothing better to do than camp out and wait for you to take a single step from your team.

Honestly I think putting a time limit back on Sombra’s invisibility might be the best thing for both teams.

You’ve just described bad sombra players. There’s a reason why shes the one of the most hated and complained hero here. Completely negating a tank from playing like doomfist and one clipping a support with her virus is very useful.

Depends, I’ve seen level 100 sombras obliterate back lines. Then I see new sombra that are goofy, hiding, hack, go back to hiding.

A sombra holding an enemy at spawn is a loss though.

Only in high ranks where theres typically more communication, or teamplay.

Your average plat Sombra is not going to be useful

On average she’s just a nuisance and doesn’t do enough for the team. Then you go against that one person that can run the lobby on Sombra…

No, Sombra is a bad choice unless you are on comms and are coordinated. She is only good if you are already better than the lobby, but that only happens in QP and for top500 one-tricks.

I truly will never understand this forum. Nothing but waves of posts on how overpowered, overbuffed, and no skill Sombra is. Yet we get topics like this that say they don’t get picks, the average Sombra player is bad, they’re not useful…like which is it?

When Rein’s shield is hacked away in the middle of a teamfight it’s actually extremely bad for him. Sigma too.

Sombra is probably the best dive partner. She can perfectly time her engage every time, and virus is impossible to miss

It’s one second and the tank almost always has a support parked up their behinds. It’s not bad unless a Dva bomb(or the equivalent) is about to explode. If a single second without cooldowns causes your death, it’s on you.

For reference in OW1 Hack lead to a kill roughly 1/3rd of the time, and that was a 5-6 second silence.
