Are Experimental card changes part of a new patch or entered into current patch>?

Mainly an OWL question. If Experimental changes go live and we never in the PTR >>> do they get absorbed into current patch or does a different patch version is created [ 1.xx vs. 1.xx.01 ]…

Do these changes go straight to OWL or do they have to wait the 2 weeks just like a regular PTR updated patch [ 1.xx vs 1.xY ]

Overwatch League strictly plays for the most part what is currently available on the live game client without any “current” experimental play changes. Now when a new live patch is released, the league does not start using that patch for at least a full week since the release of that live patch. So as an example the upcoming matches this weekend will play on the April 23rd patch, but without the experiemental play changes that were being tested when that patch came out. This means the hero balance should match the most recent changes from the April 14th, 2020 Patch (1.47.0.0 Echo Release). The current live game patch (1.47.1.0 CC Nerfs) now uses most of the changes from that Experimental card, but you will not see that in Overwatch league this weekend (but this is the first weekend that Echo is eligible for play in the Overwatch League).

Experimental changes are usually a small edit to the current patch.

Kinda like changing some variables on
Server_Config.INI

But no changes to Overwatch.EXE
