April fools echo

Until you realize her kit is completely stable without even having to fly and she can turn into mcree and ult away your shields, build another ult and do it again against no shields :stuck_out_tongue:
She’s literally a better any hero

Yes they will balance her, but that is not the real issue.

She should have been a support. We don’t need a hybrid sigma/moira/phara dps It’s just silly to realease another dps lmao

This is exactly what she needs… killable, and one ult

numbers won’t help. If you have fewer abilities you can afford to have them impactful. If you have many abilities you’ll have to nerf all of them until none of them are impactful.

It feels bad to play heroes nerfed that way even if they are technically balanced. See Baptiste and Sigma for reference.

She’s tall, but very skinny. In a game with primarily flat floors and zero movement acceleration, width of hitbox matters FAR more then height of it.

You can’t call something a ā€œglass cannonā€ that very quickly earns a ā€œfreeā€ second and third life.

She is busted.

You’re ignoring the part where she can be shot at and has no sustain without a support.

What’s gonna stop a Mccree player from shooting her head 3 times. Yes, Echos ult is broken, incredibly so. But the rest of her kit is fine. Maybe increase CD on her sticky grenades.

Tbh, when the enemy team is running barriers, it’s quite difficult to gain ult charge as a copy…

I’ve seen many games where players are just a few ticks short of getting enough ult charge.

Doesn’t look OP to me…

Dodging, vertical and horizontal mobility, rapid movement through the air, the ability to dive him, the damage potential to kill him multiple ways faster then he can kill you(with easier aiming requirements as well!), a free second and third life with Ult.

She has THE best barrier break in the entire game.

If barriers are a problem ult after you roll your face on your keybord for a while and break them all.

Okay, and? Good hitscan players can tap Genjis and Tracers and Pharahs, Echo will be no different.

The only part you’re right about, is the ult. Which needs to be changed I agree.

Yes, good hitscan can help.

Tank and support roster maybe aside from Hog are out of luck. I was kinda hoping we would leave the whole relying on DPS too much behind.

I have to say though that the hero who was the supposed savior of supports being so incredibly effective against tanks and supports is some delicious irony.

I’m not worried about DPS. I’m worried about the hypemobility tank buster that can steal your impactful tank/support ultimate at will. That is just ridiculous.

Then they are bad. She can fly, and has no reason to pop Ult in front of that barrier. She can fly around the barrier extremely quickly, pop Ult from behind, and go to town. Even if they turn and punish you, you just turn back into Echo with full health and fly back.

[edit] not to mention she alone absolutely shreds barriers.

Her wings stretch her width out very far and increase her hit box in turn.

Tbh I don’t think players are thinking about this character in the grand scheme of things, as she’s not getting ā€œa second lifeā€ or using multiple ults at once.

People need to wait until we can play matches in comps outside of the No Limits mode offered in the PTR and see how she plays out in games.

Not when you can fly into a flank then copy

At minimum, she absolutely gets a second life through Ult, as killing the copy just makes her a full heath Echo again.

She’s balanced imo.

She’s just got new hero smell and players don’t know how to deal with the stank yet.

She can build 5 pulse bombs during her ult.

If you think that’s balanced then you really need to think a bit harder

Implying that dealing 200 damage is actually a challenge.

Worst case scenario, the echo lands some sticky bombs on you for a postmortem with her dying breath. She’ll most likely be in an awkward position when she becomes unmasked due to needing to take the position of the assumed hero. Echo’s kit is not suited for frontline dps, so if she copies a tank then gets unmasked she’s toast because an out of position squishy hero is always easy to kill unless your aim is bad or you’re not trying.

Just because it doesn’t die when you traditionally expect it to doesn’t mean it’s broken or OP.

Is this based on personal experience or that BTC video where he just aims at the heads of training bots during tracer assumption?

It’s based on best possible case scenario in the time frame given… will this consistently happen, no but the fact that it’s a possibility shouldn’t even be a question that this is too strong…
I mean it’s like people get a hero for their role and it’s still not enough until they get something that just insta kills the enemy team… this goes for tanks healers and dps a like… the greed that blinds some people is astonishing

The best possible scenario is never achievable in the modern game environment.
As time goes on, the best possible scenario becomes less and less achievable as the pocketing requirements become higher and higher.

Pharah is a good case study of this concept.
