No expert here, but if you or someone else can play a decent medium-to-long ranged hitscan (or projectile if you’re really good) you should easily keep him away.
You could hypothetically brawl him close-range with heroes like Junkrat or Reaper, but idk about the effectiveness of this.
I believe it’s just important to keep your distance and coordinate with your team (especially your supports).
inb4 “have multiple people focus him at once”, or some other argument that applies to every other hero. Including, but not limited to, “team coordination”, “CC”, and “good positioning”

Roadhog, Brigitte, Mei and Sombra can all deal with Doomfist pretty well. It’s got a learning curve and I’d compare it to bull fighting. Basically, learn how to dodge the cooldowns, punish overextending, and ALWAYS CC him when he’s charging the punch
Stuns, Play something with a mercy pharah and ana, when ever he gets on ana, hit him with a hack or stun and then load damage into him in that short period, if it goes wrong you have res.

As a support, I go Moira or Lucio. Both have the ability to be more difficult Doomfist targets. Lucio can boop him out of his trajectory, and speed/peel allies to safety. Moira can zip out mid combo and lay down consistent damage while he’s in range.
These aren’t sure counters, but more often than not it’s helped me.
i crush doomfist with tracer if they try to go for me.
but i can usually do enough damage to doom that he has to retreat before he’s killed anything

Yes. Using your Supports as bait and reeling in the Doomfist as soon as he engages forces him to swap heroes or playstyles. Roadhog will be even better after the buffs
Ok, but doom will not die at all to hog unless focused by most of the team.
His hitbox is Suprisingly large and you usually chunk him by at least 200HP. And if you get a follow up shot he’s usually dead
Coordination can easily shutdown Doomfist no matter how good he is. Doomfist has 3 playstyles but since we’re talking about good Doomfist, they only have 1 and thats the Predator playstyle.
The predator: This is the playstyle that most people struggle against. Doomfist main combo is slam+uppercut+gun then use rocket punch to get out. Doomfist will never attack head on, it will always be from behind. Supports and heroes with no mobility will be his main targets. Doomfist mostly comes out from above
When Doomfist is using this playstyle he’s never with his team. You can tell when Doomfist is using this playstyle is when you hear a lot of yelling but you see Doomfist this means that he’s trying to get behind your team. If Doomfist doesn’t yell for like 7s that means Doomfist is already behind your team.
Now since Doomfist is behind your team, he will be on the high ground watching your team, picking out a target, and waiting for the right moment to strike. Once the planning is over Doomfist strikes and gets his kill.
To counter this playstyle use coordination and other heroes. Notify your team when Doomfist is trying to behind your team, or when he’s already behind your team. You can have 1 tank (Orisa, Roadhog, Zarya, Dva, or Hammond) to watch over you supports since they’ll be his main targets. Mercy, Moira, Brigitte, and Lucio are the supports that you would want on your because they make it harder for Doomfist to kill them.
Hanzo and Widowmaker is also useful as well. Since Doomfist comes out from the high ground, Hanzo can mark high areas with sonic arrow which reveal Doomfist location and he won’t even know. Widowmaker can use her ult or mine to reveal his location too.
I don’t want you to go alone anywhere because that will make you an easier target for Doomfist if he’s using this playstyle, take someone with you.
The new Torb will be very good against Doomfist. His turret automatically focuses on Doomfist which can tell you and your teammates where he is. Torb can survive the combo because of overload ability too.

doomfist is simply out of balance , hes high reward low risk right now , far too easy for him to move in and out deleteing heroes.
a better player can simply outplay his counters , and his counters are all situational heroes or weak heroes to pick.
but i’m sure blizzard will blizzard him , by buffing his counters , introducing a new hero that counters him , and nerf him all in one patch.

Speaking for myself, I find that the effort required to counter a competent Doomfist is disproportionate to the effort required to be a competent Doomfist. It often takes an entire composition switch and a much more defensive style to play around a good Doomfist.
Even a hero that’s usually considered oppressive like Widowmaker doesn’t have the same effect.
Personally, I think Doomfist needs to have a little more risk added to his dives. As it stands, his “The Best Defense…” passive is a bit overtuned IMO. I feel like a reasonable nerf that wouldn’t cripple him would be a revert to the recent +5 shield buff he got a while back. He’s clearly strong in his current state and can get a lot of value from his kit. Making him a little easier to kill when he dives deep would force Doomfists to weigh risk and reward even more, and give his enemies a chance to fight back.

I’ve had limited success with Reaper, but that’s been in Deathmatch.
Otherwise, I would say Roadhog, since he has the healthpool and survivability to force Doomfist to either blow his cooldowns or run. Additionally, the hook+shot combo is still just as devastating, and can force him to retreat.
Regardless, I think for now the best Doomfist “counters” are to force him to withdraw. Roadhog’s buffs should hopefully help him deal with the Fist.
Get a good Sombra player and have them babysit them.
Most of the time when enemy got Sombra i’ll change my Doomfist lol. Especially if the Sombra focus on hacking me.
Another hero i hate to play against as Doomfist are Torb, Mei and Reaper.
